Correct!

Our 3.0CL has the same engine (in theory--mostly the block and the internals) as the '98-'02 Accord V6.

HOWEVER, there are differences. Our 3.0 engine is basically the same as the '98-'99 Accord V6 (but with different engine harnesses and ECUs). The '00-'02 V6 Accords (as a group) have different engine harnesses, ECUs, and ignition systems. The '00-'02 V6 Accords have direct ignition (no distributor).

The '98-'02 Accord V6 tranny is NOT a simple swap into the '97s (believe me--I've researched this topic up the ying-yang)!!!!!!

The '97 3.0 had both a ECM (Engine Control Module) and a TCM (Transmission Control Module). The '98-'99 3.0CL and the '98-'02 Accord V6 only have a PCM (Powertrain Control Module--they combined the ECM/TCM).

It takes a little customizing to fit a '98-'02 Accord V6 or '98-'99 3.0CL tranny into a '97 3.0CL. The '97 3.0CL is very unique in many ways--sorta like Honda's "bastard child".
