3.0 supercharger

does anyone on this forum have it on their 3.0? i know its been done on the accord v6. How much work is it to put the supercharger in our cars im really about to do it if someone will give me like a exact price and how much labor would be.

thanks.

two words: search button.

Of course I couldn't find it either, so I don't know why I'm saying htat, lol.

The comptech supercharer is a little over $4k. It has t have some customizing to get it to fit on our CL's, but it gets the job done. Only gets you about 60 whp witht eh regular pully and about 80 whp with the high boost pully. Add 10 to those numbers if you get an intercooler.

I'm planning on doing that, but instead of paying $4k+ for a supercharger kit, I'll probably end up just gettinga screw-type supercharger from whipple, and fabricate the rest of it. Much less expensive than a custom turbo, but keep in mind your tranny won't be able to handle the extra power. You'll need a tranny upgrade and the only one that I nkow of that can handle that much HPp is the Dr. Evil tranny. I think it has a rating for handling about 500 hp, so it should be enough. I emailed them, and if you mention that you heard of them from V6p.net then you get a $500 discount on the tranny, which brings the price down to a whopping $4k. So if you plan on getting any real power out of the 3.0 expect to spend at least $6500.

cldriver is the only one that posts on acl with a s/c, however there are more 3.0's in the "real" world that have them. a guy in my area has one on his 3.0 and someone else with a 3.0 has a 6spd swap done. ive met niether of them but they go to the rsx meets and my brothers friend has pics/vids of them on his digi. the same friend also bought his CTR valvetrian from a guy in cali that also has a white s/c 3.0. so there are people out there, they just havent found this place yet...

yeah

cldriver has the SC on the 3.0 but our trannys do not hold up well at all

the guy with the 6spd swap in the 3.0 is a member here and i cant think of his name right now but search for it on the forums and youll find his post about it

it cost WAY too much money to do the swap, like over 6g and then he still had problems with it

I got the high boost SC on mine about two months ago. Cost $4000 for the kit and $1300 labor and a few hundred more for misc parts and the Red Line ATF. I already had a tranny cooler on but you should be sure to have one of those too.

Wow, nice. I have only seen one other first gen CL in denver since I got miny. It was green and was a 2.3. I've had my car for two months, so I am kind of surprised I haven't seen many. Do you have the stock tranny on your car? Is it doing alright now? How about the install? Did you have to modify the SC at all for the J30? Where in colorado are you at btw?

Hey. How you run at this friggin' altitude? At least you're 1000 ft lower than me. I'm in the Springs at 6500. I've seen several 1st gen CLs around, none as nice as mine tho. The service advisors and mechs at Pikes Peak Acura really like it too, a couple even offered to buy it. As for the tranny, I had it replaced at about 35k miles, I'm at 65k now. Its holding good with the SC so far. I had the SC installed at PPA by their 'performance' mechanic. He does all the SC installs and does the work on their race cars for PPIR and the hillclimb race. He said it was pretty straight forward, only had to relocate one line and modify the battery tray or something. Later...

I plan on selling my car and returning it to stock shortly, within the next month or so. Unless someone wants to buy my car as is with all the mods in place.
I will post a separate ad shortly, but since we're on superchargers, anybody interested in buying mine?

whoah, I didn't get it taken off yet. Don't know what price I will ask for yet, but my guess now would probably be around $2900.
