225/45zr17's on my 2.2 CL??
Hey Everyone,
I just bought a '97 2.2 CL at a bank auction a few days ago. I really like the car but I noticed that the speedometer and odometer are both off, like maybe around 10-12%. The previous owner of the car put 17' Konig rims with 225/45zr17's on the car, which I believe are the cause of the problem. If I get new tires then what size 17's should I get to set the speedometer closer to normal?
Also, I have noticed that whenever I make sharp left turns at low speed or moderate left turns at higher speeds my car makes a sound as if the front left tire is rubbing against the wheel well. The strange thing is that the car doesn't shake at all, the only thing noticable is the sound which isn't too loud. Given that my car hasn't been lowered at all, could this be possible? Does anyone else run 225/45zr17's on a first gen CL?
Thanks for the help, this is my first post but it definantly won't be my last

A-CL Post Whore w/N2O
Welcome! ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I've read where peeps have put on 215/45/17's on their CL and the speedo was just a hair off. The 225 mm width may have something to do with your speedo and odo being off.![Dunno](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
Keep in mind that several peeps have noted that their speedo is off even with stock wheels/tires. It seems somewhat common.
I wonder if you're front wheel is hitting the plastic wheel well?

Stock Tire: 205/55/16
Side Wall: 4.4 in
Radius: 12.4 in
Diameter: 24.9 in
Circumf: 78.2 in
Revs/Mi: 811.0
New Tire: 225/45/17
Sidewall: 4.0 in
Radius: 12.5 in
Diameter: 25.0 in
Circumf: 78.5 in
Revs/Mi: 808.0
Speedometer reading with non-stick tire is 0.4% too slow. When your speedometer is reading 60mph, you are actually traveling 60.2 mph.
So, that tire and 17" wheel are pretty close to sock.
