i was just wondering how close could our cars keep up with a 96-97 maxima auto. i have a 5sp and my friend is got a auto max, i nkow they got 190hp and we got 150hp. all i ahve have is intake and his is bone stock.

 

I've got a 99 2.3 and a 2000 Maxima - both 5 speeds. My CL feels quicker, but the Max would dust me for sure. The 2000s have 222 HP. I can't speak for the older model Maximas tho. There was a thread on the same subject about a week ago, see what was said there.

 

I have a 2.3 5 spd, and when i only had exhaust, I raced a 96 maxima 5 spd. at the track. (only 1/8th) mile. That was one of my better runs of the night and he still beat me by about one tenth. (almost half a car) Really close. I asked him about the engine and he just said it was a V6, he didn't know the specs. He had e/cai. If this is the same motor, you should be able to take an auto one for sure.

i had 95 SE max 5 speed...it was a lot faster than my 2.2 5 speed. i think for sure you gonna get a great view of his tail lights if you gonna race him.

 

my boy has a 98Se AUTO 220 HP destroys me...190HP stick or auto is still gunan eat you up especially when you get to around 90-100mph

 

you should win if it's a short race. Like only to 60, then he's gonna catch up.
