Just wanna know what you guys think. Who do you think would win in a race........

5-speed 2.3 CL with Headers, CAI and Exhaust or a 3.0 stock?

I was just thinking bout that today...is it a hopeless cause tryin to beat a 3.0 with anything short of NOS?

I think that you will at least be able to keep up with a stocmk 3.0, if you don't beat it. I am staying with them right now and all I have is a short shifter and an intake

yo a stock 3.0 runs like low 7s 0-60 and 1/4 mile mid -high 15s. a 2.2cl w/ a i/h/e and 5spd can run a high 15. and if u encounter one on the highway forget it they can hit 130+ no prob. try getting ur 2.3 past 130. it will be a pretty close race but u shouldlt beat the 3.0 yet. well the car anyways

It'll be close but I think the 3.0 has the advantage. It is definatly not hopeless to try and beat a stock 3.0 w/o some type of forced induction. A couple more mods and you should be able to beat stock 3.0's.

Hate to say it cause I am anti 3.0 (for obvious reasons), but the 3.0 will take the 2.3 modded.

I had just about every bolt on NA and only got 143 whp out of my 2.2 NA. The 2.3 wont be much more than that (Max 5hp more).

The stock 3.0's are 150-155whp.

It would definately be a drivers race though.

I've seen the older body accords doing low 15s on the F-series motor. Just do i/h/e cam gears...advance the timing...add fuel...an ignition would help for the advanced timing...and lightweight wheels would definitely help.

about the 130+ that is true for stock LAST WEEKEND I DECIDED TO TOP MY CAR OUT AND I HAD THE SPEEDO SLAMMED AT 140 AND THE TACK WAS AT 5500 AND KEPT PULLING

You'll get beat, as long as the 3.0 is running good. I raced my friends dads 3.0 cl and I have e/cai/h. I had him by like a car at 60, but then after that he started pulling. By 90 he had me by 2 cars. I had a pretty good launch too. On the freeway he kills me. Just race to 60 and you might have a chance.

sweet....this post was a blast from the past for me. I was surprised that somebody resurrected it! I think i've pretty much given up on speeding the car up....i just wanna make sure it's quick enough to beat most NA civics. I guess an ocassional granny driving a 3.0 wouldn't hurt either.

I got my 2.3 past 140, and I can prove it if you're local! I live in Hollywood FL

i raced a friend of mine who had a 3.0 with i/e and i had half a car length on him till about 80 before he started creepin up on past me

The 3.0 from factory spec is like 50 hp faster. But to the real facts the difference in their speeds isn't quite 50hp difference. Based on the fact that a 3.0 must have an auto (unless someone is rich and bored), if you can get your car within about 7-10 hp of him, and drive your car appropriatly, you can beat a 3.0 in a 2.2 or 2.3.

2.2's and 2.3's are that fast?!?! 0-60 is pretty quick... but what about 60 to anything above that? is it fast?

I've been past 140 with my 2.3, 120 on the highway is a everyday thing for me!
