2.3 5 speed with intake or a 3.0 stock? Reason I ask is my friend is talkin shit cause his stepmom has a 97 3.0 and he says it will kill mine no contest. I've never seen figures for 1st gen CLs so anyone who knows let me know.

I raced a 96 or 97 v-6 w/mods and it was dead even.

A stock 3.0 can take out a lightly moded 2.2/2.3 easy...

 

the 3.0 will take u unless the idiot cant drive an auto for some reason. and if ur on a highway the 3.0 easile hits 120+

I think It depends on the drivers. I've raced different V6 cars (never a CL) and I've been right there with them. They haven't smoked me, but I haven't eigther.

 

hey.. really ?? howcome I feel my car is very slow... is the 3.0 suppose to beat the newer preludes with manual /? i doubt it.. i had troulbe keeping it up with them. Don't they have 190 stock hp ??? with manual.. i think it can kill 3.0 with third gear.

 

The stock 3.0 has 200 HP...not to the wheels though.

Preludes I believe have 200 or 220, but its manual...so more HP to the wheels. Plus I think its lighter.

But against a 2.2/2.3, I'm pretty confident that unless it has NOS or the owner is a nut and did a f0de conversion to it , the 3.0 should win.

 

There are a number of us CL'ers heading to the track Friday night. I'll let you know who does what, and with what mods (or lack there of).

 

I was in ft lauderdale and this kid in a 3.0 with a hottie ridin shotgun pull up next to me at the light. The girl turns to me and says wanna race? LOL. She said "we have a 3.0". i guess they saw my 2.3 badge. Then i said i have stick! well all in all it was a good race but only with my muffler i pulled him all the way through 3rd. Races can depend on the amount of people, the drivers, etc. Some people i race are too busy tryin to show off to actually know what they are doing. IT ALL DEPENDS. You can't really know unless you ahve done the race.
