NAWWS ftl.
thanks to F&F, everyone refers to it as NOS, lol LAME
Boosted F's are semi cheap and worthwhile. Go to CB7tuner.com and check out all the boosted f's they have.
Also if your looking for faster and easier to tune, buy a civic, turbo d, keep the Cl as a daily.

have fun boosting an f22. idk im not trying to be harsh or anything, i just really think its pointless. if you want power, you dont buy an economical "sports car". sure cl's look great, preludes, lots of tuners. but sorry, i just think its not worth spending the 40k to make a car as fast as a car thats 30k stock.

an acura cl is classified as a luxury sports coupe. and i dont consider 600hp a lot personally. and yes, building any inline 4 to its full potential costs a lot. not necessarily 40k, but you have to keep in mind that if your going to build a car like that it just isnt all engine. other factors come in. really now , im not trying to offend anyone or anything here, i love my car, otherwise i wouldnt be here. im just trying to say that if i were to ever build anything that fast, i just wouldnt get an inline 4. as everyone knows, a bigger engine = more horsepower/more potential.
if anything was misinterpreted im sorry, i just dont think our cars were built for speed.
EDIT: yes, our car is classified as a mid size luxury car. i was just referring to what my insurance company says. (usaa)

i drove a coupe ford festiva like it was a rally car. besides who gives a shit about "why and what" a certain car is labeled. every car shares the same fate... to be brutally raped by innovators with lead foot syndrome.. let the true enthusiasts do their thing, while the cavemen sit on their asses and wait for god to invent the wheel.

600hp isn't a lot only if you have something better to show.
Your F22 has more displacement than F1 cars in the 80's. Define bigger...
Everyone knows a well balanced car > biggest engine in the world.
Define bigger engine. More displacement, or more cylinders? Because the two don't go hand in hand...
There are civics that come with double wish bone suspension stock, while the Evolution does not. Does that mean one was built for speed while the otherone was not? Simply by the fact that the civic share the same characteristics as what a true sports car have? My point is, anything has potential...

My 3.0CL is a 275lbs heavier than my CB7 but now that the sway bars are on it handles just as well and thanks to the v6 it's a little faster.
But wait, a v6 is just a little faster than my piddly f22???
I built the motor myself for about 2g's; for an extra grand it would have been built for FI but i decided against it merely due to lack of time. Needless to say it made 130whp & 130ft-lbs untuned without fuel. had i not wrecked that car it would have made about 150whp and 155ft-lbs. not bad for a motor that made 125hp at the cranks stock. had i gone the other way and spent anohter 3g's on the build and turbo system it would have made somewhere around the 250whp and 280ft-lbs @ 10psi (capable of 18-20psi) which means for a total of like 17g's including the car and stereo i put in it i could out run a g35/350z..... WITH A 4 BANGER!!!!!!!!
Now, to the CL. hmm i payed 4500 for the car, if i spent another 35,500 on it it would be rwd with an LS7. Plus if you've been reading some of cocoa's threads then you know you can stick wider tires on it than you can on any other honda it's size. I think i might do it anyways.

yeah I would say that if he's on a budget and still wants power/performance...he should go with an s13 or s14.
You're simply not going to get the same rush/feel from a fwd car as you would a rwd car, and sr swaps are as much if not less than h swaps and the power potential out of them is greater at a lower cost. However, got to pay to play, and of course the reliability/maintenance of boost vs. N/A...yeah, you get the drift.
But with the 240 you also sacrafice all the amenities/refinement of a CL....interiors are probably one of Nissan's all-time downpoints. And well....every 240 owner always has little random problems here/there. But that's also because a ton of em push their car to hell and abuse it lol.
However, I love 240's for what they are, and that is a cool budget RWD sportscar.
You have to really establish your goals and what you're looking to do...how much hp do you want to ultimately attain and what budget you have to work within.

i agree entirely with everyone here especially cocoa. i know you can build our cars. i just cant really get my car being very fast into my head. im not trying to put anyone down either, its just that if i, personally, were to full on build a car, it just wouldnt be a cl. it is my first car, so of course, ill have plenty more.

excellent reason.
and why build a car that's "already fast"? because there are better platforms. high power and serious handling requires more displacement (for a STREETABLE application. yes F1 cars are fast and built on 4a series engines, but you won't see one going down to the grocery store any time soon), and a good chassis/suspension to start with. you can throw coils on a frame not designed for abuse, but you're not going to get good results. the whole what can you build with 40 thousand... well, i'd build a mk4 supra. why? it's a 3 liter, damn near bulletproof straight six. it's balanced. it's FR. its suspension is race-bred. and if i were to pick one up for around 15-20k, i could still throw 20-25k into modification, and wind up with an amazing car for the street, strip, and road courses. you can't get that kind of balance out of an FF honda, no matter what you do.
front wheel drive isn't performance oriented. there are two reasons so many cars are FWD. it's an efficient (read: cheaper!) way to get a moderate amount of power to the ground, and, in inclimate weather, it is far safer for your run of the mill driver. RWD offers power and stability with performance driving, but your average driver (a person who has a car because they need to leave their house, not because they need to have fun) will not know how to drive in rain or snow or even just on frozen ground. oversteer is simple to correct, but only if you know how.

thanks for the laugh, that was a nice to wake up to. 40k in a fox body would build a car that could fly to the fucking moon.

and fast cars dont get good gas mileage, it takes more fuel to create more power.
thats the whole point of more displacement, turbos, nitrous, superchargers, injectors, so on and so on. more fuel + more air = more power.
