1998 CL Body Work
Hello acura people,
I have just repossessed my white 1998 CL 3.0 from my daughter and it is trashed. does anyone have any information on replacing the body panels? I am baffled since it looks like one piece from tail across the top of the windows. the front quarter panel looks to be straight forward. My goal is to pick up body parts at a recycled parts place and do it myself.
appreciate the help...

If your talking about replacing the quarter panels.(panels above rear wheels). please leave it to a pro. it requires the removal of the rear and quarter glasses. It requires drilling out all the spot welds around the door jamb, trunk, wheel opening and sectioning the roof along the sail panel and welding it all back together . It is a lot of work and takes years to learn how to do properly and safely.. theres a reason body shops charge so much to do this type of work.
On the other hand if your talking about doors, hood, fenders or trunk its all gonna be able to be done with some basic hand tools and someone with basic mechanical knowledge although lining the parts up to get the "gaps" right will be tough.
i hope i can be some help. I am an autobody tech at a gm dealership and am I car and dupont certified.

^ yeah its a big job..
i did my driver side in school (did a year of autobody) when i repainted the car & if you have no experience in autobody then i'd let a pro do it cuz if it doesn't go on properly then the whole car can be off from trunk/door gaps to the rear window goin in crooked..
i was doing a co-op at a honda dealer & there was this 06' accord that was waiting to be delivered after the rear glass went in & when the glass guy showed up the glass went in crooked which meant he 1/4 was installed wrong & the whole thing had to be re-done. It was bad & the tech got fired on the spot but the shop still had to pay to re-do the whole thing..it was just bad all together
