$h!tload of rattling
for the past few months my car has been rattling like a motherfucker. mostly when i put my exahust on over the summer. and recently i found out that i snapped the bracket that connects the 2-1 part of my header to the engine. so over the weekend Supraman took that shit off. at first i thought the rattling problem was solved, but then it came back later on that night. my heatshield on my catalytic converter seems like its on there good, so it might not be that. but now im thinking its the first resonator on my exhaust rubbing up against the huge heatshield that covers practically the whole exahust system. i gotta figure out why everything is rattling so bad. its so embarrasing to have such a sexy looking automobile and then it sounds like its falling apart.

My dash has been rattling... especially in the last week since I got my car back from Aamco with them messing with the computer and wiring harness. As good as my car looks it sucks that it's starting to show its age....

It's still not right... grinding between first and second gear, won't downshift sometimes at highway speeds, revs up to 6k rpm's before it will shift from 3rd to 4th almost consistently.
I'm working right now with my credit card company to get my money refunded and I'm filing a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair.
My dash got messed with when they put the new wiring harness in and hooked up all my lights... I'm going to have to get in there this weekend and figure out where exactly it's loose...

I've driven an automatic TL and both a 6 speed and an automatic TSX. I was extremely impressed with the 6 speed tsx... for a 4 cylinder that car is decent.
The TL had a little too much torque steer for my taste but I got over that cause that car is just too hot. Not to mention... if I get one of those I'm supercharging that bitch...

If it's not the exhaust check your 6x9 speakers in the trunk.. make sure the nuts aren't working their way loose.

I painted all those screws and nuts with latex to secure them and from that point on, no trunk rattles. The little nuts that hold the speaker screws in place don't stay tight. Loctite would probably also work.

Im also looking at getting a roll of dynamat (offbrand). I found a 50 sq.ft. roll for 125 bucks shipped. That should be enough to do the the trunk, doors, trunk lid, hood, and odds and ends places?
Or could I get away with like a 25sq.ft. roll?

Naw bro, you'll want more, get the 50. I dynamatted my trunk lid under the carpet, the license plate, the rear deck, the doors and such, and no more rattling from the trunk, the wing however rattled till i filled it with dynamat foam

How much did you put on each spot? Did you cover the entire door, or just a few strips?

I just don't like when my girl slams the door and the window rattles, so I'm solidifying it some more with more dynamat, the doors don't rattle much at all, unless you have broken clips (which I don't) even with 1200-1500 watts of bass slammin in her, it's mainly all trunk and deck

Ahhh... just get out the measuring tape and do a rough estimate.. you should be able to put the dynamat under the carpet though it's easy enough to take out the factory carpeting material. Use PL Premium or something like that or just hot glue
