MDX recall transmission

Just received a letter from Acura requesting that I bring in my 2006 to "update the transmission software" due to some reports of rumbling between 25-45 MPH and shortening the life of the trans. Letter stated one might have to leave car half day(either standard corporate approach) as find it hard to believe a software update taking very long. Anyone do this yet or know about it?

Yeah, I feel that rumbling they're talking about at that exact MPH! But I'm the 2nd owner and it's an '03, plus it has 115,xxx miles on it already!

So I guess I'm LOL?

I haven't gotten that letter yet. Do you think they will still do it for me if the car is used certified and that I don't have a letter but my X is an 05

Should not matter if you bought the car from that dealer. This is a campaign/recall from Acura and all Acura dealers will honor the claim if your car is included in the recall.

To back up what mdx_1976 said, I bought my MDX used from another car manufacturer's dealership and had no problem with taking my car to Acura for this. Since having the reprogramming done, the truck does sound quieter (especially at lower RPM's such as when driving at 115 km/h on highway). My cousin had the reprogramming done and he said his truck seemed smoother and quieter as well.
