For repairs and maintenance of vehicles, I generally am a DIY man. Having considerable experience on Audis, I am familiar with and comfortable using the Vag-Com diagnostic software which is available to anyone willing to pay $500 and up for the appropriate connector.
I undersand that HDS is the Honda equivalent of VW-Audi's Vag-Com. The dealers all have it but is it also attainable for the average Joe who wants to delve into more complex DIY work than just simple maintenance and repairs?

Did you get any non-posted responses to this? I would also be interested in buying the HDS for my own use (plan to have my TL for a while!).

the problem with buying the hds which is been discontinued is the server updates which are done through the ahm in server and if your not a dealer i dont think thats a option.
