Rv6 V3 J-pipe flex pipe rattle

There seems to be a rattle coming from the flex pipe .. I've checked all bolts/brackets to see if they were hitting and everything is good. I've pin point the rattle and it's coming from within the flex pipe. Anyone else experience this ?? I've contacted Richie but no response..

Did you check to see if any of the heatshields are loose / rattling?

My 3G TL & 7G Accord had the same issue.

I've checked and doubled check. I have access to a lift at work and my cousin would rev it and I was on the bottom listening to the rattle. It's coming from the flex pipe area..

You have any other mods done? Stage 3 or anything? Curious to see the outcome.

i have the same thing. my mechanic says that the lining in the flex pipe has ridges in it for it to bend without breaking and that the rattle is from that. he said that he had the same thing happen to his s4, then he replaced the lining on the inside so it was just flat instead of the bendable ridges and he said it was gone.

I've had the RV6 V3 j-pipe for about 2 months now.

Haven't had/heard any rattles.

We see this a lot with custom DIY setups. The vibration/and rasp seem to come out of the flex pipes since they are the thinnest part of the exhaust. Solutions would be to header wrap the entire jpipe or get a larger resonator.

If it makes you feel better you can send the jpipe back and Ill throw it on my car and do some testing. You might want to look into getting a proper aftermarket exhaust. I have yet to hear DIY exhaust come out sounding right.

I'll try the header wrap during the weekend and if that doesn't solve the problem I'll be more than happy to send the j pipe to you. I already have a 14" res on the exhaust. Hope this solves my problem. Btw My rear rv6 v2 pcd broke at the stock welds so I had it welded and after 4 months I hear a slight leak again

I was getting an annoying vibration, rasp...turns out it was just bad welds on my stage III.
I still have a light rasp when she's cold but it must be the way the flex sounds when cold. When warmed up, it's a lot more throaty etc. i guess it's the nature of the beast...

hey, at least it's not deteriorating like another thread someone started.

Richie...mine sounds awesome! And it's not a proper exhaust at all...

I love a vendor that stands behind his product...

Pmd you. Btw would wrapping the j pipe void the warranty ? I rather not mess with that and just send them back to you.

think about it this way. if he does a full refund then i can say its kool. but to remove the j pipe and ship it back means a dead car for a few weeks. and to remove it means getting dirty and borrowing some tools. too much time and labor.

^^then don't.
and why wouldn't most people have their stock pipe to throw back on there...
at least the guy is making parts for our cars, via trial and error, AND backing the product up. I thought it was a really cool thing to do, to back it op and say he would try it on his car.

NOTE FOR EVERYONE THAT IS NEW TO RV6 PRODUCTS

HERE'S A REASON WHY YOU SHOULDN'T BELIEVE 1 WORD THAT KINGKONG_DAV WRITES. READ THIS THREAD

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/07-tl-type-%24ex-vs-nissan-maxima-839929/

Would you still want to believe someone that talks like that @ the age of 28?

KINGKONG_DAV has never purchased or even tried out any RV6 products. The only reason why he is against RV6 is because he found a thread on some other forums that indicated they had a weld go bad on them. HE'S JUDGING BASED OFF OF THAT INCIDENT.

Now he goes around and says

BLA BLA BLA RV6 IS BAD, RV6 IS WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, BLA BLA BLA TOO MUCH TIME TO REMOVE PCD, RV6 NO GET MY MONEY.

STFU. Since the bad welds RV6 has come out with the new V3 which are clearly 100x better than the v2 and will not have the same problems as the v2.

RV6 has sold 100's, if not, 1000's of products and kingkong_dav is about the only 1 person out of the group to constantly bitch/complain/rant when he hasn't even tried out the V3 products or any RV6 product for that matter.

you just changed your avatar from a yellow tool box to a red one.

Maybe you should settle for a pic of a tool, or yourself or something?

Thanks, but no thanks. Won't be long until I become a certified automotive service technician, what makes you think I would allow a 12 year old to help fix my car?

Honestly, if it is the one I think it is...and has the padded shelves...it costs a VERY pretty penny. Now the real question is...

Is it FULL of MAC tools!

^sounds like a coincidence. If you just installed HFPCs...I'd go back and check your work. can't really connect the two IMO.
