ucf_bronco’s Progress Thread (Updated September 2015)

Well here she is. I have a few mods in mind but nothing major due to the fact my wife is pregnant and the disposable income is on the decline. So far I've only removed the badges and added the underbody spoiler kit. Christmas will probably bring a few more goodies but that will be it for a while.

All in all I love the car. I had some issues with the paint job but that's behind me now (see "Problems and Fixes" subforum for details). It's really everything I wanted in a car and then some.

ucf, your tl looks great. glad to hear you got your paint issue squared away. damn the cbp looks sweet! i almost got a cbp. i like the aero kit. im thinking about it. how did it cost you, and is the install easy?
i have not done many mods either,
waiting for the cash to do some 30% tint.
what tint did you go with?, looks good, i also like your hpt package.

I fully agree on the 6MT and I'm definitely a fan of the badgeless look. The Acura logo keeps it from looking too plain.

I'm loving the way the aero kit turned out. I got lucky and had the dealership throw it in for free due to the issues I had with my paint (they installed it too). I'm not too sure on the % tint...it came that way when I bought it. It's close to 35% though. I'd prefer 15% but not enough to shell out a couple hundred bucks.

Ideally I'll get some gunmetal color wheels when I need new tires, and I'd like to paint the grill and rear trim to match. I've seen a black 4G on here with a dark grey grill and trim piece and it looked great!

I really like Orlando. I've been here since '98 and have no intention of leaving anytime soon. It's the perfect mix of nightlife and attractions. You can also head a short distance in any direction and be in Miami, Tampa, Daytona Beach, or Naples. You don't get the harsh winters of up north but it gets cooler than south Florida.

Well I finally got around to wrapping my grille in vinyl. I did the outside portion in matte black and the inner in gloss. I also painted the mesh grille a silver color (as close to the color of the headlights that I could get). I'll be re-installing everything today and will post up some pics. Can't wait to see how it looks!

Well, here are the results. I'm really liking it! There are imperfections but you can't see them from more than a few feet away. I also am very happy with the look of the gloss/matte combo. When the day comes for me to get it painted I'll definitely be sticking with this same theme.

I have to give props to FYAH TL for the idea to do the mesh in silver. I was never a fan of the grille being the same color as the body until I saw that. It really helps to have some contrast.

You have great taste

I'll probably try to get some 20" wheels @ August or so, whenever I need new tires. I figure I can sell my stockers to cover some of the cost, and the out of pocket will be close to what new tires would've cost anyway.

I'll also probably get the inner portion of my grille painted by nexson and do the outer myself. The vinyl is far from perfect so it will only be temporary. It's nice though because it allowed me to see that I really like the gloss/matte combo as opposed to all gloss, so money well spent IMO.

I'm not quite sure what I'd like to do after that. I'd like to unlock a bit more power but not at the sake of added noise / exhaust fumes. Time will tell I guess...

Thanks! It's actually holding up very well. There are minor blemishes here and there but none that really bother me. I hand polished & waxed in early March and it after each wash it looks like the day I did the full detail. I've finally got a good system down to prevent just about all water spots from my extremely hard water.

Same shoot, slightly different angle. I moved a bit more to the left (in front of the car) to get the avatar pic.

I always wonder if people think I'm a tool when they see me taking pics of my car. At least this time I did it somewhere other than my house / street

Thank you! I have actually considered a roof spoiler, but there's other things ahead of it on the mod wish list, haha.

Thanks man! I couldn't believe how nice the shine was. It's the best it's looked since I bought it, even thought it's the second time I've polished and waxed.

Thank you for the comment on the yard too. I take a lot of pride in my yard. It's actually due for some fertilizer as it's not nearly as green as it usually is. I'll probably put some winterizer on it in the next couple of weeks. I'm loving it...it's been two weeks since I cut it and it looks like I just did! I love this time of year.

That's definitely what I'm going for...clean.

I love it here, been here for almost 15 years and have no plans to leave.

Thanks man! I'll be pulling off the vinyl on the inner piece soon and getting it painted CBP...then I may paint the outer in matte or just leave the vinyl on it as that part's holding up well. I like the all black look but with different finishes to break it up.

Pics will be up soon, but my new xmas goodies and other minor recent changes are as follows:

1. 6k HID's
2. 6k HID fog lights (awaiting replacement kit)
3. Taped off terminal on front turn signals so they only light when signals/hazards are being used.
4. Put stock high beam bulbs back in and pulled DRL fuse.
5. LED license plate lights
6. 15% tint (replacing 35%)
7. Center piece of grille painted CBP (was wrapped in vinyl)
