Swarlos's Progress Thread
Hi everyone. I got a few mods done over the past couple of weeks so decided to make a progress thread to try and consolidate. This forum was super helpful when I was trying to decide what I wanted to do with the tsx. Thanks for the posts and inspiration everyone.
Here's a shot of my old RSX. Its a very old picture from my crsx days. Actually couldnt find a pic of the car in its final state. By the end I had added a type r spoiler and swapped out the cwest front lip for a greddy front lip. Traded the car in for the tsx. I really miss my rsx. It was definitely a fun car.
Here the earliest pic I could find of my tsx. Never took any pictures prior to adding the mudflaps and decklid spoiler.
Here are pics after mounting the enkei razrs. The specs are 18x8 40 offset with dunlop 225/45/18 rubber. That tire size brings you closest to stock diameter with 18x8 wheels. Speedo is thrown off by less than 1mph. Switching to 18s definitely firmed up the ride a bit.
Got tired of the 4x4 look so decided to go moar low. Got some tein ss from heeltoe
Day after the tein ss were installed. Dropped it down to about 1 finger gap all around. Dampening was set to 8 clicks (halfway). Rides great!
Got my SPC rear camber kit.
Here are some pics after my re-allignment and camber kit install. I allowed the tein ss to settle for 1 week after installation before heading back to get the alignment. The teins didnt really settle too much, but my rear camber went pretty negative a few days after the install. According to my print out I had roughly -3 degrees of camber in the back after full settlement. Even after the allignment, I still have 2 degrees of - camber. Guy told me that the oem toe arms are not adjustable enough. I need to find some toe arms now. So that will be the next purchase.
More pics to come. Will probably take some night shots of the vled 5000k led white plate lights. Never took pics of those.

good job...i wish i woulda went w/ coils. how many miles do u have on them? they may settle a bit more after about 1000 miles.
that sux that you now have to buy an adjustable toe arm. do u not want negative camber?

I was actually aiming for -1 to -1.5 deg. -2 degrees of camber is too much for a fwd in my personal opinion. It increased tire wear and increased oversteer. And from a vanity stand point, it is making my rear wheels look more sunken in than they really are. lol

Thanks bbc. Yeah they're arguably better than the stock suspension. I did a short review of them in an older thread. Copy and pasted below.
Looks
The drop made a huge difference. The car has a much more aggressive stance now. I wasnt a huge fan of the enkeis pre drop, but now that the wheel gap is eliminated, they fit the look of the car great.
Ride quality
The ride is the best part. The tein ss ride surprisingly better than stock. It dampens smaller bumps in the road much better. The oem ride was kind of juttery and jumpy. The tein ss glides. However, the larger bumps in the road are a bit more noticeable. But over all the car rides exceptionally well and corners very flat. I couldnt have asked for more.
Build quality
No squeeks, shakes, or rattles. Very high build quality.
Practicality
Even with only a 1 finger gap drop, I can still make it over speed bumps head on. No need to go at a 45 deg to avoid scraping. However, you do have to go slowly, and the little mini mudflaps in front of the front wheels do graze speed bumps lightly. Driveways are no problem either, so far.

However, if you are on a budget, I have been reading that you really only need is a toe kit. Back when I lowered my rsx, people recommended a camber kit. But on the forums here, people are saying you really only need toe arms because camber does not really wear your tires. Extreme tire wear only comes from running on out of spec toe angles. So that may be something to think about.
Another piece of advice I have is to read carefully before buying any kit online. Make sure they are including both right and left rears in the kit. I'll shoot you a PM on where I've been buying my arms from. It was the best price I could find.

New wheels on the way!
Axis Pentagons
Front Wheels: 19" x 8.5" +35 wrapped in 235/35/19
Rear Wheels: 19" x 9.5" +40 wrapped in 245/35/19
Always loved these wheels. They looked especially great on the 3rd gen TLs. Hopefully they will look just as good on the CU2. Its probably gonna be a tight fit with the specs, but I'll make it work.
Selling the enkeis. Dont hate me razr crew. lol

Need some help guys. My new wheels are gonna be a staggered set up.
Front Wheels: 19" x 8.5" +35
Rear Wheels: 19" x 9.5" +40
Should I be running 245/35/19 all around or should the fronts be 235/35/19? I've seen it both ways. Just trying to keep rim/tire diameter as close as possible to stock. Also would running a 245/35 all around look awkward since effective sidewall heights would be different when mounted to wheels with different widths?

Tsx'd my 18s are wrapped in 225/45/18. Its the closest you will get to stock specs with an 18x8 wheel.

Last pics with the razrs
Finally took off the damn fender well trim that came with my car. Took almost an entire day to get all that damn double sided tape residue off. But I think it looks a lot better now. Last few pics with the enkeis before the new set up goes on.
And here is the new set up. Probably wont be able to mount these for a few weeks. Got a lot of prep work to do first. Gotta get some wider tires for the rears and roll my rear fenders. Hope these new wheels are worth all this leg work.

--Fitted--
Well finally got the time this weekend to mount the axis pentagons. spent my saturday bouncing from shop to shop.
Heres my car at discount. Swapped on the oems about 2 weeks ago. Didnt want to put anymore miles on the enkeis considering I'm selling them. Discount installed the new rear tires and test fitted the new wheels. Found out that they barely fit without a roll. But if I were to have people in the back, it would definitely rub...so decided to get my quarters rolled anyways.
Car at my favorite shop after the roll and alignment. Also went and dropped the car a bit lower. Rear is all the way down on tein ss now. Still a few threads left in the front.
Gave the car a full detail today. It was filthy. Took the car down to miami twice with no wash in between. Sky turned black right after i finished...lol
Cant forget to include the classic cell phone in the lip pic.
What do you guys think? I'm pretty satisfied with how everything turned out. Only problem is I got a slight bit of poke in the front. So I'm rubbing the fenders when I go over speed bumps. I can either roll the mini lip on the front fenders, shave the front wheels to a higher offset, or run a 235/35 up front instead of a 245/35. Not sure which route I want to go.

Thanks man. Running 245s in the front and 255s in the rear.
Thanks swoosh. They were the "it" wheel for the 3g tls for a while, so I figured it might look pretty good on the tsx.
Yeah I was looking at that after they mounted them. Colors unintentionally worked out lol. Yeah I got the roll done at speedzone. Thats vish's slammed tl in the background. I got tired of waiting around for s and r. Getting a hold of their fender roller was tough. Just called up Vish and told him to take his time heating up the paint first. Do you know who actually rolled your quarters? I got lucky with Nick. He does most of the rolls for speedzone and really knew what he was doing. He had a 3 stage rolling procedure. No cracks in the paint at all. Great guy too. Stayed in the back to chat with him while he did it.

Thanks Bill! I'm pretty satisfied with the fitment. It looked even more aggressive before the realignment. But these tires are way too expensive to burn up with negative camber.
Thanks for the honesty Ed. I'm the opposite I guess. I like silver mesh wheels. Think they give the tsx a clean/classy look. Maybe I'm getting old. lol
