Just trying to get a feel for what front lips I can choose from for the TL. I wanted to go for possibly the OEM front lip but I'm not sure if there are more then 1 OEM lips avail.. are the TL-S front lips compatible with an 05 TL?

There's another thread from today showing 3 clear pics of the three 3rd gen TL lips. Let me try to break it down for ya.
1) This is the 03 to 06 base TL a-spec lip...

2) There's a base TL lip for 07 and 08 models. Pictures somewhere on this site I'm sure.

3) This is the 07-08 Type-S lip that will not fit the base nor other models without custom work...

heres my TL with an AM aspec front lip. its going to be painted wdp next week along with the rest of the aspec kit. i gotta say it looks kinda nice with it in Anthracite metallic though. lol

did that require any modding - thats the exact set up im lookin into... how much did that front lip run you and where can you get them online? what fogs did you go with - i kinda like the oem fogs that go in there as they fill it out more. nice though!

 

so how much custom work will 04-06 TLs need in order to get the tl-s bumpers on? would it be costly? i never realized how much more aggressive the type-s front is compared to the aspec

DAMMIT!!! I knew someone would come up with a great idea right after I got my AM lip! Nature of the beast, I guess.
I think that combination would rock.

 

Haha - I don't know if I'd buy a new OEM lip that's a different color, but say a NBP lip comes up in the Black Market, I'd probably jump on it and just see how it looked as is. If it doesn't work, then I could have it painted.

 

on the 2005 bumper it required cutting around the vent areas on the bottom, i would say the best thing to do is to do a fit test with the type s lip and u can determine what areas need cutting and use a lot of 3m tape it will help out around the corners, i actually got the lip off a member who sold his TL.. for the fogs i went with a different look for now, i went with the hella replicas alined with a 3k hid kit..
