very nice looking. funky exhausts, and the rear reminds me of a solara which is a negative in my book.

Still very good looking though.

Design straight from Nissan's book.

Nice, but the rear is odd.

The only thing that is lifted from Nissan with this design is the greenhouse shape; it's an easily recognizable design element, so it's easy to thing that's it's a Nissan clone. But really, this is a great original design, IMO. It looks like the coupe version of the Aura will sport unique sheetmetal, if this makes it to production (lets hope so). Very hot design. Both the interior and exteriors are awesome.

Is it RWD? Is it based of the the Solstice and Sky platform?

Take a hard look at the body of the Pontiac G6. It's the GTC's cousin. And that's where the design comes from... you especially see it in the rear 3/4 view. From what I understand it's off the Epsilon platform (same as the G6/G6 coupe,Aura), and is a FWD compeititor to the Accord and Alty Coupe. I don't think Saturn will be getting RWD cars besides the Sky.

I thought that it was Epsilon based, but I hear rumors from good sources that it's RWD based (which would be awesome). I look forward to the press release.

Geez, if it's RWD, it's probably based on the shortened Zeta platform that the next Camaro's ride on...

It does make sense to do it using the G6 Coupe. I'll await the press release.

The Opel's a little sleeker. The Accord doesn't look all that bad from the side profile. But from the front, the Opel slaughters it.

Opel unveils 325-horse Insignia OPC

04/15/2009, 10:10 AM
By Andrew Ganz

Proving that there is still some life in Opel, the struggling European unit of beleaguered General Motors, the automaker unveiled the high-performance Insignia OPC at the Barcelona Motor Show. Based on the all-new Insignia sedan, which could make it to North America as a Buick or as a Cadillac, the Insignia OPC is powered by a 325-horsepower turbocharged 2.8-liter V6.

Based on the all-new Insignia, the OPC - which stands for Opel Performance Center - sees a 69 horsepower increase over the standard 2.8-liter V6. That healthy upgrade also puts it 45 horsepower above the Saab 9-3 Aero, which shares the motor.
Opel claims that not only will the OPC take less than six seconds to reach 60 mph, it will do it with a minimum of fuss thanks to a heavily revised front suspension and standard all-wheel-drive with an electronic limited slip differential. The OPC also sits about 10 mm lower than the stock Insignia.
The HiPerStrut - High Performance Strut - front suspension is designed to reduce torque steer and to maintain a negative camber during cornering to improve grip.
Outside, the OPC gets a unique bodykit and 19 or 20-inch alloy wheels, as well as Brembo ventilated and cross-drilled disc brakes with color-keyed calipers.
The cabin receives Recaro front seats, a unique steering wheel and gear lever, special instrument graphics and a black headliner.
The range-topping sedan will be available in Arden Blue, Power Red, Carbon Flash Black, Silver Lake, Olympic White and Technical Grey. It will go on sale this summer badged the Opel Insignia OPC in Continental Europe and as the Vauxhall Insignia VXR in the United Kingdom.

I take back what I said in an earlier post. I think this thing looks awesome!

I think it looks hot.... especially inside. The front seems just a little too busy, though this is supposed to be a car that's out there. I guess its because of the shape and design of the grill but that beak is pulled off better than on the new Acuras.... I like the rear, its pretty distinctive. The character line in the side works well, but that part where it slopes downward in the front door looks awkward or out of place for some reason, even though it lines up with the rear bumper. Better than a fake fender vent I guess.
