What kind of gas mileage are you getting on your MDX?
For the older style MDX owners (2001-2006), I'm curious what type of mileage you are getting. I'm pretty sure that the label said 17/23, but I'm not getting 23 on the highway.
I traveled 600 miles yesterday from Columbia, SC to Columbus, OH and averaged a smooth 20.6 MPG. Not bad, but with it raining to beat the band, I never went above 70. I thought at that speed, I'd have a shot at hitting 23MPG, but it wasn't meant to be. Anyone else out there, get much better? I think the mileage should realistically be more like 16/21. Looking forward to hearing from you guys.

increase the air pressure to 35 PSI all around, also check your engine filter. Do you use premium fuel? How many miles on the X? I used to get around 24 with my 06 that was still in break in doing about 74 MPH
Good responses. I do use only 93 octane BP gas. Seems to like it; no problems with performance. The car has 48k on it. Tires are set to 32/32. Tires are low-rolling resistant Goodyear Integritys. I'll try the 35 PSI.
As far as weight, that probably is a key variable. Family of 5 was in the car along with all of our stuff from traveling to see the family in the south.
I seldom drive the MDX as my wife's daily driver. Much prefer my TL, but I'll get her to check on the intown driving. Seems most of the time when I look at the MID with her driving in town that it hovers around 15 or so.

My mom has an 04 with 94K and is constantly getting 15-17 mixed. My aunt has an 03 with 94K and is seeing around 20-22....The tires are loud and noisy on the 04 which I think is why the MPG are worse but I wasn't expecting them to be that bad. When I drove her truck for a week, I was seeing 19-21, maybe she's got a led foot.

I do average 17MPG in city/town driving (15-19MPG). Depending on the elevation changes on the highway route you take, you can average anywhere from 20 to 28 MPG. I can drive a turnpike route that follows the coast or get on Rt95 and get 28 MPG. But if I travel the eastern part of Rt80 with all the hills, I will get lower 20's. Also, remember that this is pure highway. If you are doing combo highway/city, don't expect more than 18-20MPG.
on a trip from CA to CO, we averaged about 25mpg.
driving to/from work with 1/2 highway and 1/2 streets, I average 18-19. But I drive slow, and stop slower...
I'm using regular fuel. It makes no sense, but I seemed to get worse mileage using premium. Made the switch mid-2008.
