Weird problem with headlights stayin on.

I just bought a used 2005 Acura MDX touring. It has worked like a charm for a few weeks and I went out yesterday to use it and it was completely dead. I jumped it and it works good again. It puzzled me untill I went out there to try it again and it again turned on fine. But when I closed the door I noticed the headlights stay on. So I remembered that the day the car died I had opened the passenger side door to mess with the DVD drive for the navigation and had turned the car to on after to make sure the dvd loaded up. I remember the headlights staying on but thought they would just turn off and went inside. Well I went out there thir morning to make sure it started and it did. I did so through the passanger side door and turned it off and closed the door and noticed the headlights on (Car is in the garage), I armed the car thinking that would turn off the lights and it did not. I stood there for a while and it didn't turn off. So I went to the drivers side and opened the door and the headlights turned off right away. What gives? anyone know what this could be? Can anyone emulate this for me on a 2005 Acura MDX and tell me what is supposed to happen! So I think the other day my headlights just stated on and drained the battery. Is there a switch bad?

Normal. The Auto headlights on all the 1g mdx's will only turn off when the driver door opens after the car has been turned off.
