Upgrade from TL
Hi guys,
I am going to upgrade to a MDX in the near future.
I like the look of the 07-09s better than the 10s+ because of the bagel slicer grill.
What would I be missing out on if I decided to go with 09 as opposed to a 10?
also, I heard that if I get the DVD package, you lose your AUX input in the front, is that true?
Which models are more reliable?
I am thinking either black or silver exterior, with a gray interior.
any guidance would help.

If you like the looks of the 07-09 better than the +10; I wouldn't worry about the updates in tech styling and features. I went with a used 08 RDX tech because I like the look better compared to the +10 RDXs. I missed out on some cool tech upgrades; but, I love the look of my RDX with the color choice and front spoiler.

No Bluetooth audio in 09. Came in 2010. I have a 09 MDX and I went with that due to the front end and the rear exhaust tips looked better to me than the newer model. My Friend has the 2013 and having the sixth gear doesn't make that much of a difference on gas mileage. Its still a gas guzzler. his 2013 also has 3 camera angles and guidelines which mine does not. I have a 3G TL also and I think that the 07-09 MDX and 04-08 TL are the best looking models but then again I could be biased

A good thing about the 6AT is it does provide a little fast acceleration because of the extra gearing. The one extra mpg doesn't hurt.
Down side of the 6AT is it will do a 1 or 2 downshift for power and mpgs can be worst than the 5AT. My mpgs were 17-18.5 mpgs combined driving to CO from NM on I-25 at 80 mph (5,000-8,000 ft of hilly terrain, a lot of shifting). My combined mpgs was about 21-22 mpgs at 85 mph driving to Houston (5,000 ft to sea leave, flat terrain, min downshifts). Straight city mpgs as always been 14-16 mpg; don't know if the 5AT does any better?

i bought my 09 b/c of the 10+ buck tooth. i'm not one that has to have the latest and greatest in terms of tech features, so it wasn't a deal breaker for me. there are a couple things i would like, but that beak... also add that the 10+ was out of my budget at the time.
my 6MT TL satisfies my acceleration and cornering enjoyment

Main two things are 6 spd vs 5 spd and of course the look. Being that the +10 is a MMY refresh I would also say it is a bit more refined. Looks are subjective, but I think the +10 just looks more muscular and mean looking!

I agree. I do think the 09 looks good as well, but to me the 10-13 is perfect looking inside and out. I like it better than my TL-S.
