is it too much?

Hello everyone,
I'd to hear some of you guys opinion on pricing a 2011 MDX. One of my buddy recently bought a white 2011 with tech/entertainment with silver roof rack, silver running board installed. He also bought the all weather floormats for the whole car including the tray if 3rd is folded down and a net. Additional thing he bought were the clear protective film cover for the front bumper and foglight installed . Everything came out to be 50k. What do you guys think? is it too much? or it's reasonable. Thanks

Tuan

is this only for the tech and entertainment pkg?? the advanced pkg with entertainment usually runs about that price.

he got ever single add on possible and he definitely paid for it! he could have gotten a lot of that stuff for a lot less had he waited and bought it after and DIY'd the installs.

he got killed on the install and MSRP price of the running boards/ roof rails/clear bra...

mdx with tech can be had for 42500-43000. add about $2k for the entertainment so $45k-$46k just for the car. the add ons were like another $4k. ouch.

if this was the price for the advanced pkg with entertainment and all the add ons...then the price is good. no advanced pkg....eh...not a great price.

If it was $50K taxes in maybe, otherwise I agree with TLtrigirl. Curry Acura sells most accessories on eBay for very competitive prices although my local dealer said they would match it price for price.

Other than the floor mats and rear storage tray, I'm not much one for DIY, especially on the roof rails, but the cost of the accessories is definitely negotiable, probably the labor too when you're buying the vehicle. Its like any part of the car buying experience, keep all variables separate when negotiating, the purchase price, the trade in value, the finance rate, the price of accessories and the labor for accessory install should all be negotiated individually for your best deal, when dealers bundle, they win.

I agree with doctortuna about negotiate on the car or trade in separate. From what he told me, he financed approx $48K otd with just running board installed. Everything else, he paid separate 2 weeks later because he wanted. Anyway, thanks for the input guys
