Tires
I haven't seen a thread about tires except for winter tires so I thought I'd start one. We just replaced the OEM Goodyear Integrity tires with a tire called the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max. The price was very reasonable on tirerack $99 each and there is a $20 mail in rebate. These tires weigh at least 3lbs less than most of the competition and are claimed to have the potential for slightly better fuel mileage with the lower rolling resistance. I'll report later with my full review, but for now I can tell you they are very quiet and smooth.
We just replaced the OEM Michelins with a set of highly rated BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A Tour tires at Costco for $132/per tire plus $14 per for mounting/balancing (includes road hazard). We are very happy with them, ride great, stop great and very grippy in dry and wet. The OEM Michelin were a slightly quieter, only can tell with the radio off, but worth the huge savings over the OEMs in my opinion.
The Long Trail T/As are a bit cheaper at TireRack compared to Costco, but do not include road hazard and lifetime rotation like at Costco.
