Time for my first oil change ????
Vehicle had around 151,500 miles when I bought from an Acura dealer-now has 157,300 on it. I pretty sure they used dino oil when the dealer changed it, and from the frequency of oil changes in the maintenance log, it was previously always run on dino oil.
Trying to decide between Mobil1 5W-20 Extended Performance which I've used in both TLs with good luck at 14,000-15,000 mile change intervals
However, I got them changed over earlier in their engine life.
Since the MDX has a lot of miles and never seen synthetic oil, was thinking I should maybe go with Mobil1 High Mileage synthetic 5W-20 (afraid seals will start leaking)
Would like to hear pros & cons and if I did go with the High Mileage, what would be a good mileage interval for changing since it is not a extended performance oil?

The only issue the "might" happen is syn oil has much smaller molecules compared to dino oil. Some of the reasons why syn oil is better long term because it can slip into those micro fractures, coat engine parts better, less wear during start-ups, and flow better at extreme temps to lube engine parts (especially in winter). The dino oil might have clogged and gummed up any wear in the engine kinda like tire slime in bicycle tire. You might have to watch your oil consumption to see if you might use a little more as the syn oil cleans out the crank case and might slip past the rings a touch easier. That is an 1% of 1% worst case scenario and most likely the MDX won't miss a beat with the new oil.
I didn't pay attention to my oil consumption when I purchased my MDX used with 30K on the odo and changed the oil to syn Mobil 1 5w-20 a few weeks later. I consistently use about 1/2 to 3/4 of a quart between 7500 mile M.I.D. oil changes. Don't know if the oil burning has increased or stayed about the same with the Mobile 1 switch over?

Shouldn't have an issue with the 5W-20 EP gold cap.
After doing some oil tests, I won't be running the EP for 15K in my cars anymore maybe a max of 12K miles, I follow the maintenance minder even with Syn.

Yes you can swap even at that high mileage but I highly recommend you use 5W-30 instead of 5W-20. The J37 is a picky engine and likes to burn oil if its too thin on summer.
Use only 5W-20 if you never see any real summers (Above 80`F).
Also like CSMEANCE said do not run 15K on EP in the MDX... Use max 10-12K that is a safe figure and you are not taxing Mobil 1 EP guarantee of 15K.. My TL-S did not seem to bother with
15 oil changes but the MDX runs harder since its not enough engine for the drivetrain loss.

I went with Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30 Extended Performance in the MDX. So far no problems. Since the TL got smashed, I no longer have to worry about it's oil change interval.
