Hey acurazine members- I am currently considering buying a 2007 Acura MDX. I am in a Honda CRV and am looking for something a little bigger and a little more fun I am deciding between the 2007 MDX and a good deal i found on a 2006 Mercedes ML. I am trying to find out what i can expect from the MDX long term as far as cost of maintenance and reliability. Any advice for a newbie??? Thanks!

If you want documented reliability from actual owners, go no further than the CR buying guide. The MDX is pretty much at the top of the heap for reliability, although there is one black mark for the '07 audio system. Overall though, it's rated better than average. It shows the M-class 6-cyl. '05 models as average overall reliability, but with 8 black marks, including full blacks for the audio system and the paint/trim. Some people do not respect CR ratings, but what else is there except purely subjective and suspect/heresay personal opinions. On the other hand, you ask a bunch of MDX owners which is the best of the two and, well, you know what to expect

Still a little early for "long-term" reliability results? Agree on the Consumer Reports info...might not be perfect but not much else available. I've had no problems but if you search enough MDX threads you'll certainly find some that have had issues.

I would lean toward the MDX. My Mom takes hers from CT to Maine almost every weekend since she bought it. I tried to giver her my "09 [after I rubbed against a tree slightly cause I now hate the damaged car] so I could trade in her '07 and she said no thanks she likes her car. 7 more payments and my '09 will be a newer model. Good luck with your choice...

I just purchased an 07 MDX 2 weeks ago and I love it. I can't comment on the MB because I have never driven one but I have never been a fan of their styling. I have heeded CR's advice on quite a few products and they have yet to disappoint. I don't think you will be disappointed with a MDX.

i have an 06 MB c280 runs good but i hate euro cars maintance is to high so i'm thinking of trading it in for a 07 mdx
