taking delivery on a MDX tomorrow
The dealership I bought the MDX at are closed on Sundays. I told him ahead of time that my only day off is Sunday and he responded by saying that he would be willing to deliver it to my house on Sunday if I decided to buy it. I drove down there this past Wednesday to check the car out and put a down payment on it.
The salesman is delivering it to my house tomorrow morning even though the dealership is closed on a Sunday and the dealership is 3 1/2 hours away from my house lol
Do I need to tip him or anything??? lol

tip him? buying the car from him is good enough. instead of tipping him, get him a gift certificate for food or something, but send it to him at the dealer later in the week as a thank you for such great personal service if you feel so inclined.
make sure you look over the entire car when it gets to your house. stuff happens during transport. my dealer guys have done this for customers. you worked with a good dealer.
clean out the garage!

Andy....Congrats on your new MDX. Today is the big day and I am sure you will delighted by such a fine SUV, the best looking one in the industry in my opinion!! I agree with others that you are fortunate to have a fine dealer to be willing to deliver it to you at 3.5h hour drive away (that is 7h return) so you should a little something for the person. I am not sure a cash tip is appreciated as much as a card and gift certificate for a nice restaurant or something....That will be greatly appreciated but again, you don't have to.
One thing you MUST DO is the following: POST PICS as soon as you have it

i would think if you scrolled through some of the menus you could delete them. have you looked in the owner's manual?
i know you can delete previous phone books that were transferred to the car (the PO of my MDX...i know where they live and i have all of their phone contacts still in the car, lol). dealer missed something when deleting all that stuff.

Hey...any chance you could send them my way!? I am a HUGE country music lover...the really twangy ol' stuff too, from the 70's like Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard etc....
...and don't be blaming me for the poor weather either
Did you figure out how to delete the songs from the HDD on a serious note...??

Quick question: So last Sunday the salesman delivered my car to my house. Did all the paperwork and all that. And I was just looking through all the paperwork again last night and I noticed an error. The listing price was $36.8. He was supposed to sale the car to me for $36 even. I looked on the financing paper and it has it at full price at $36.8
I knew I shouldn't have gotten to excited haha. It's only a few hundred, but just wondering, anything I can do about it, or is it too late?

i'd bring it up...you tipped the sales guy $100 for driving your car to you...i'd take that back too. i would be a little upset about that. $800 is a lot. esp if you agreed upon the lower price and they wrote it up wrong. do you have ANYTHING (email, VM) that says he quoted you $36k? and not 36800?

When I sold cars years ago, we were not allowed to finalize any sale other than at the dealership. The state issues a license to all salesman, and on that license is the address of where that salesman works.
That is the only place he or she is allowed to sell a vehicle. By sell, I mean for the paperwork to be signed and finalized. If we worked at a car show in a local mall, etc, we could not sell any vehicles there. The potential buyer had to come to the dealership's physical location to sign and finalize any papers.
Depending on your state and the outcome of how the dealer handles this, you might want to check with your state regulations regarding the sale of a vehicle off the dealerships premises. Some states even restrict the hours and days a vehicle could be sold.
Again, it could very well have been a mistake. If not, and they play hardball, you may have a legal way to get satisfaction.
Good luck and hopefully it was just an error on their part and they do what is right.

I work at a big brand dealership here in NY. These guys play with number$ all day .. Trust me that these "mistakes" happen more often than you think. So often that when they do make them, they slip any important information they left out from the original agreement into your glove compartment and wave to you goodbye hoping you don't notice you've just been robbed blind.
But you can't always blame the sales personel. These things often happen inside the F and I office unbeknownst to even the salesman.

Thanks guys, Who should I talk to? THe salesman or go straight to the manager?
I called while I was busy at work and couldn't talk for long. I asked for the manager. The guy "looked" it up in the computer and said in the he sees where it says in the computer..there is a note there that states we had agreed on 36k even. And to call back on monday when he can get into the office/paperwork area or whatever.

start with the sales guy, then take it up the food chain. but you've already gone straight to the sales manager...if they resist then take it to the GM. at least you have proof that the sale was for 36k not the 36800 (or they have proof). you will probably get a few more bucks back for taxes (since they taxed you for the higher number). is the dealer NOT open on the weekends?
