Starter Change

Anybody have any idea as how to change the starter in a 2003 MDX? My wifes makes a horrid grinding sound when she starts it. At first I thought she was holding the key forward too long so I tried it and it still does it. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Let me know if this helps

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio, and the navigation system, then write down the
radio presets.

1. Make sure the ignition switch is 2. OFF.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Remove the starter motor harness clamps.
5. Disconnect the starter motor wiring.
6. Remove the two bolts holding the starter and remove the starter.

To Install:

1. Inspect the starter seals and replace them if damaged.
2. Install the starter. Tighten the bolts to 33 ft-lb (44 Nm).
3. Install the harness clamps and connect the wiring. Make sure the crimped side of the Battery terminal is
facing out.
4. Install the battery by connecting the positive cable first.
5. Start the engine to make sure the starter works property.
6. Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system.
7. Enter the customer's radio presets.
8. Set the clock.
