Side Step Bars

So, I bought a pair of step bars for my '10 Mdx and just got it yesterday and thinking about installing them this weekend... this is what I got
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290997053020
Anyone has any experience installing these bars or similar ones? I'm not sure if it will be to tough but from what I can see, it is just bolting to the existing holes in the frame? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Here's my install thread from when I installed running boards, might be a few things on there you could find useful:

Not to hijack this thread, but I'm curious if someone here has Romik or Aries side steps? I'm planning to buy a set for my MDX since I saw a good deal on these brands- http://4wheelonline.com/Nerf_Bars.19775. Price is not really an issue; I just want to know if these steps are really durable and easy to install. Or do you have other suggestions? And what can you say about the quality of nerf bars from ebay? Thanks guys.

^^most folks usually go the route of OEM running boards. just doing a quick search on reviews of the romik bars...seem to be positive. the knock offs on ebay for "OEM style" i have not heard of issues, but the concern is always fitment and quality. mdxers site might have a few threads on running boards.

installwise...i installed the running boards on my MDX with an extra set of hands. it's pretty straight forward (with instructions it's all plug in play). i have OEM sport running boards.

Thanks for the reply, TLtrigirl. Yes, some guys here have the OEM runningboards. But I like the look of nerf bars. Might just get the Romik since I saw good reviews online about it.

I have the nerf bars and I think they look really good, especially with all the chrome accent that already comes along with the car. I did not have much trouble getting the bars installed myself .. trick is when you're ready to tighten up all the bolts... you have to really eye-ball the "evenness" of the bars across the length of the car... took me approx 30 mins to bol the bars onto the frame with the brackets but took me more than 1.5 hours to properly eyeball and get it right. ....

I just recently installed some 4" Oval chrome running boards bought off of eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/01-06-ACURA-MDX-SIDE-STEP-NERF-BAR-SET-PAIR-RUNNING-BOARD-4-OVAL-S-S-CHROME-/161093204587?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2004%7CModel%3AMDX&hash=item2581e73a6b&vxp=mtr
And well the boards and brackets I had NO complaints about, the problems I found were:

** The bolts were very 'soft', I picked up some strengthened 4x20 bolts
** WD40 the mounting threads ALOT, there was tons of rust which impeded easy bolt threading (that's how I found out the original bolts that came with the boards were of poor quality and were bending)

Hope that helps.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I wanted to know if anyone has side steps or running boards other than OEM. I've been looking into aftermarket as well since I read that the rubber can bubble on the advanced running boards and the metal can rust on the sport running boards.

I'm leaning towards the Romik, but I wanted to ask those who installed non-OEM, if they have any recommendations. I'm looking for good quality, functional, and maintain a discreet look to put on the MDX. Here is the Romik that I'm considering at the moment:
