I have a 2004 mdx with 100k miles. I am trying to figure out what causes it to periodically run rough. It doesn't last long, maybe a couple sesconds. But it is happening more often now. I only notice it as a sound, like a slight rumble. It doesn't seem to be losing power.

Any ideas?

 

Might be that infamous tranny rumble?

If you said it's a 'slight rumble', does it occur between, say, 30mph-50mph?
Can you tell if it's from the engine, or the transmission?

 

As described, it does sound like the tranny rumble. Had the same thing in our 2006: had the tranny recall performed and replaced the spark plugs and the problem went away.
