Rear Seat Heater- Opinions
We have only had the X a little over a month now and almost everyone who has ridden in the 2nd row, has complimented the performance of the rear seat heater.
Today, I finally rode in the back seat and enjoyed the extra bun warmer, but did not think it was spectacular. My wife loves it and I guess that's all that counts since this is her vehicle, but I am interested in others experiences as sometimes I am accused of being hard to wow

Generally, I am not impressed with Acura seat heaters. They take a little too long to heat up and the warmth is not that 'warm'. I like the fact that my MDX has rear seat heaters and it's good to have it in winter. But the slowness of the heat up period is true of both my MDX and my RL ( front seat heaters only ). My Lexus SC has pretty strong seat heaters and it really impresses me with how quick they warm up.

There are Autos with more intense seat heaters , but ...
An example would be a Ford Aerostar and my sister's one caught fire under the seat.
IMO - Texas / South & West is more for air condition cooling seats and non sweaty balls.
If u need warmer buns either move south & west or get thermal underwear.

I remember riding in an Hummer and jumping off the seat when the seats that were a max warmed up in a matter of seconds. I think that unless you live in a very cold climate, the Acura are simply good enough, I don't need to fry my balls to be comfortable.

My RL has hi and low and I only use low. The MDX has 1 2 and 3 and I only use 1 so I do not want to cook anything and I think that the heaters are perfect and warm up within a mile of my house.
As for the rear seat heaters, the only problem is that they are more often used by someone hitting the switch by accident than when they are actually required. The switch should be more protected from accidental actuation. Kids in car seats hit the switch by accident but don't care because they are in car seats so they never feel the effect of any additional heat.
