Pricing questions plz!

i am looking to purchase a new 09 mdx in basemodel. i have requested quotes from 5 dealers in my area.

i am in Schaumburg area, which is a suburb of Chicago.

how much have you paid for your base models?

according to edmudnds, there's $2000 cash back available until 07/06.

Hi windy...a few folks have posted on Edmunds buying '09 base for around 35k in California. Not sure if you'd be able to negotiate this in Chicagoland or not.

Here's some good info on MDX pricing...

Good luck!

I bought an '09 Base about 6 weeks ago from my local St. Louis Acura dealer. I did inquire prices from Chicago to Indianapolis to Kansas City and Chicago was the most expensive. Might want to inquire about with other cities within 300 miles. Might save you a couple grand. BTW, bought mine out the door for $34,900.

Rouschracin, Really? So by your math, you purchased the vehicle for under $32,000 plus tax and license. I work for a dealership in Northern California. We would gladly buy 10 at this price! Unfortunately, we all pay the same price for the vehicle and that price is not possible! Even with the $2000 factory incentive money and the other dealer monies that price is a good $3000 under dealer cost. Maybe you truely got yours "without the doors".
I will confirm that some MDX's have sold here in the 35-36k range

I used to use carsdirect.com but more recently, I use overstock.com as baseline. If I can get it under or just around the number posted there, I'm happy.

Here are a couple of websites I found invaluable:

www.truecar.com This thing was dead on. Found this through Acurazine (another reason I love this site).

www.aaa.com I know, I know, but they have network of dealers that offer rock bottom prices on cars. Was able to leverage the price I received with other dealers and was the base line. Proved well worth checking it out and entering my information.

Good luck!

I actually got it for $34,600 but add in taxes, (traded my '08 TL on it) came to $34,971.
