Pre-owned 2010 mdx
My wife and I are potentially going to have a third kid and are seriously considering a pre-owned 2010 MDX.
Does anyone know when they come off lease? I'm hoping to find something by early next spring.
There is not a lot on the market currently. I'm aiming to find something around the $26-27k price point.
Would anyone suggest asking a dealer to help search for one when the 2010's start coming off lease?

you are not going to find a 2010 in that price point, let alone CPO unless it has really high miles.
you will find 08-09's in that price point with avg to slightly higher than avg miles on it for that price and CPO.
by the time the 10's come off lease (depends on how long the lease was for2-3 yrs) for next spring they will still be in the low to mid 30's (at which time you might as well get a new '12 since they sellng well below invoice right now and for the same price (currently) as a low mileage '11 or '10 (or darn near the same price).
you can ask a dealer to help in your future purchase...esp if you are looking for something particular. not all leases will come back in good enough shape for the dealer to turn around and sell it. a good number of them will go straight to auction.

If you want to take chances you can try a car auction (not ebay). I think that you need a dealer license to go to one of those, but I am sure that doing a little networking in your circle of friends you would be able to find someone.
Really the price poiint you are setting is not very realistic for a car at the dealer.

I have found that if you talk with a dealer/salesperson, they can "keep their eyes open" for something that comes up. But since next Spring is a long way from now, they won't pay much attention.
I got a 2010 CPO MDX myself back late Fall 2011 and love it.

If someone leased their 2010 in say Sept or Oct of 2009 then there should be some coming in off lease at the end of this year or very early next year. Or you may be able to find a 2010 that was traded in (like I will have to do soon as I need a minivan ). You might not be able to find it in that price point though as I had been contemplating selling now and buying later or trade in later and the average price for even 2010's with low mileage has been in 30's. And if you do find it in your price point, it will be the base model probably in the mid-high 30's in mileage. Also, there will be only about 6 months left in the factory warranty most likely (bumper-bumper, the powertrain is longer).

Well, I don't think it's impossible to find what I want by next spring around the $25k price point. It doesn't have to be CPO either.
But I'm still comparing the difference between a 2010 base model to a 2010 tech model. I agree that it's worth the extra money for the tech... but if I have a budget, I need to stick to it.
Now I'm actually considering the 2009 sport model... fully loaded with tech and RES. Granted I don't like the look as much... this may fit in my budget better.
Someone over on MDXERS.ORG posted a very thorough comparison between the 2009 to the 2010 with the changes.
I'll continue my search until I find the right vehicle.

All but impossible unless super high mileage or you're willing to take the risk of undisclosed damage (if something seems too good to be true... aka way under market value.... it probably is).

Found and bought this 2010 mdx base with only 30k miles for 28,888$ only 1 owner clean car fax. I live in Houston but drove 2 hours to Bryan Texas to get it . Cars are cheaper in small country middle of no where dealers most times , I bought my 05 rl last year the same way and saved thousands. This one is about 3500$ cheaper than it would be in Houston tx

I just bought a 2010 MDX bali blue with Tech package, 32,500 miles from a GMC dealer in my state for $31,000. They got it as trade since July and were asking $35,00 then lower to $32,900. Most of MDX from Acura dealers are asking around $37,00 CPO and they would not budge on prices.

W 3 kids I would say get a minivan. I have 2 kids and the minivan is a god send. My son doesn't even like the mdx anymore. It's all about the van baby. Plus w a minivan u can prob negotiate a better price and they will be near or lower then your expected price point.
We were of the mindset that we would never drive one. Then we got one when we learned of number 2 baby on the way. Now we fight over the darn thing. So freaking sweet. I might even throw on a set of volks on it.
