I am in the process of buying a 08 MDX and was wondering if anyone has tried putting odyssey coilovers on the MDX. Since someone has already used Odyssey lowering springs, I would like to think it might work.

 

You've found as much about it as anyone.

I saw some photos of the H&R 51815 springs needing to be turned upside down (on this site) and the post by someone saying that the Odyssey 08 -10 were discontinued. I saw a post with some cut springs on another site.

Here's what I found as far as part numbers:
00 -04 Odyssey H&R #51810
05 - 07 Odyssey H&R #51815 (as seen in the photos, on this site and do not have a narrowing on both ends of the spring).
08 -10 Odyssey H&R #discontinued
11 -16 Odyssey H&R # 51816,
The #51816 are selling for $288 w/free ship at mudflaps dot com
and for $275 w/free ship at tirerack dot com

When I look at the pictures on the Acura parts site (bernardiparts dot com), the shape of the 07-13 MDX base model, front springs (951401-STX-A03) have a narrowing at both the top and bottom of each spring.

That is what I see (a narrowing at both the top and the bottom) when I look at the pictures, of the 08-10 Odyssey front springs (51401-SHJ-L41), also.
Again, I see the same shape, in the pictures, for the 11 - 16 Odyssey front springs (951401-TK8-A62).

I don't expect that our member, Type S Zero will buy a 2nd set of H&R springs, as he's already tried the 51815 version.
