Talking Ode to our MDX

This past weekend we drove over 700 miles round-trip from Orange County, CA to Tempe, AZ to see some Angels Spring Training baseball. We had a great time and on the ride home, it occurred to me what a great car we have.

Our 2006 MDX has 62,000 miles and drives like it did new. "We" consisted of myself, my wife, my best bud, my wife's best friend, and my new baby boy in his car seat. Oh and all of our crap for a 3-night stay including a stroller, portable crib, and countless bags (chicks!). At one point we picked up my wife's cousin who sat in the third row (much of the 'stuff' was in the hotel room), but we still rode in comfort.

Coming and going along the long vast highway, the 5 of us cruised along at 80mph with no problems ... effortlessly passing vehicles when needed and never feeling concerned for my vehicle's power or safety. The nav system worked flawlessly getting us to whenever we needed to go.

So I just wanted to give some props for having what I feel is one of the best all-around vehicles on the road.

Kudos to Honda/Acura and to us MDX owners who are so effing smart

Any car with ONLY 62,000 miles should AND would behave just like yours did. Now if you had said 262,000 miles I would have said atta boy!!
Bigger question is are you guys ready to see the Angels not make the playoffs this year

Having cruised up to New York State a few times in my MDX I have to agree the ride is better than with any other car I have owned. I have to laff when the nav system tries to get me to take a round a bout way to get on a highway but once on the route it is rock solid till arriving. Good thread!

- just bought a new '10 MDX. It does ride nicely. My last car was an '03 BMW 745Li which did drive & ride a bit better, but got too rich for my pocket when they wanted $5K just to fix the cruise control. But I have yet to take the MDX out on a road trip.

Welcome to Acurazine RWHutch...get out there and enjoy your MDX on a road trip, it's a great vehicle for open road cruising

Just went through the carwash in 68deg comfort. Ahh ACDC Blasting in the car a great way to end the work day. Took a ride to check the shore out. Great thing about Ct is you are only a half hour from most anywhere in the state living near Hartford...

I must say, I love my MDX. I have 20's on it w performance tires and that thing KILLS the back roads we have here in MD. I've got cars that can't keep up with it. Great great great car, I get compliments on it all the time!
