No HID's?

No HID's?
I was so surprised that my recent purchase of our 06mdx has no HID's. What is the deal with that? I thought it was all standard on all acuras? I have to spend another $400 for after markets now.

06 mdx's came with HALOGEN headlamps, but in a projector housing. This was my gripe with my 06 MDX. You can buy an HID kit for around 100 dollars from ddm tuning. Their products are really good!

I agree with everyone on here, never understood why 04-06 MDX did not come with factory HIDs...the salesman at the dealership said it was because it was an SUV...I was like...ok?...lol. Glad the 07-09s come with them standard.
On a side note - The 04-current Lexus RX350 has HIDs but yet their $50k-$80k SUVs such as GX470 and LX470 do not come with HIDs...I dunno what the deal is with that

Hi all, new to the forum and was wondering if anyone has a direct link to the ddmtuning HID kit? Also is there a DIY write-up on installing this kit? We picked up an 06 MDX this past weekend and I too assumed that with the projector housings that it came with HID, but sure enough has standard Halogen bulbs in it.

Welcome!.. that one's a freebie.. There's no rules & guidelines for the MDX section but it would behoove you to read the rules from the 3G TL side so you don't get flamed.
Treat new members with respect. I was new once and had no idea how to use the search function. Lets help them out, thats why we are here. Theres nothing wrong with telling them to search, just be respectful about it.
In regards to aftermarket HID kits.. I thought the same thing when I saw the projector lens.. It's a no-brainer to install these. There are several members who have done similar kits.
edit: btw.. are you a scuba diver? free diver?

back to the HID's.. It should be plug & play. Figure out where the ballast / inverter should go on each side and figure out how to safely mount them. I doubt this kit requires a relay to the battery but you'll at least need to up the fuse capacity on the headlights.
PM FiftyFive.. I think he did a HID conversion. (Let me know if you can't PM him, there might be restrictions since your new with limited posts)
