New MDX '09 Sport !

First of all, I would like to say that it is great to see a forum with so many MDX drivers! I've had the MDX for about 1 week now and loving it. I have 2 questions:

1) I want to buy Zymol Metall to clean my stock aluminum sport wheels. Will it be safe? I'm not sure if the stock wheels are clear coated etc etc.

2) I want to install a K&N Air Filter. Does anyone know where I can get detailed instructions? I'm no mechanic and don't really want to bring it to the shop unless I need to. The link under FAQ Do it Yourself is not working anymore....

Thanks.

Congrats and welcome to the forums.

You may want to check our wash and wax forums to get more info on cleaning/detailing.

K&N filter should be pretty simple, do you mean the drop in filter or a cone one?

Oh, there are two different types of filters? I was referring to the flat, drop in filter. I thought the cone filter was an oil filter?

This is the part you will need. It should be a direct drop in and shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. I wouldn't hesitate, these drop ins are very easy to install.

Sorry for my ignorance, but is this filter (by K&N) the same cabin filter that is changed by accessing behind the glove compartment?

No, that filter replaces the intake filter in your engine bay.

This K&N filter goes in your engine compartment. You want to look for a box with clips holding the top on it. This is your airbox. Unclip it, remove top, take out stock filter, drop in K&N, redo clips, all set.

Maybe someone can get a picture up of the airbox under the hood so you know where it is.

Thanks 55 and 1tufgt. If anyone can upload a pic of where the airbox is.... that would be very helpful!
