I think a big problem is that the MDX shown isn't lowered at all, and is using stock wheels when it should be aftermarket...it won't look so bad if done properly but looks weird on that one.

 

I think it just looks out of place with the stock tires and springs. That kind of look almost requires that you lower it and get some aftermarket wheels and street tires. I'm not a huge fan of that look for an SUV - sort of defeats the purpose of getting an SUV, but to each his own. Nothing I'd ever do to my car - $5K in kits and wheels just to make it a less effective SUV.
