Mdx base stereo: Bluetooth audio and iPod interface options

I checked to see if there were any threads on this topic but nothing that completely answered my question. I recently purchased an 2011 mdx/ base. I would have liked to get the tech pkg but there were no newer used ones in my area at the time.

I love the car but I really hate the fact that the only way you can play iPod/ iPhone music is through an aux cable that doesn't integrate song title or ability to change song through stereo buttons or steering controls. So I have 2 questions....
1) the dealer mentioned being able to stream music via bluetooth , but I haven't figured out how to do that and so I am wondering if that's even possible with the base model. I can make and receive calls. If it is possible can someone tell me how or where I can find that info.

2) assuming there is no bluetooth streaming of music on base, is it possible to purchase the tech package and have my car upgraded through dealership? Or is there any devices or after market accessories I could install to make an iPod interface connection with my factory stereo?

Thanks in advance !

As far as the Bluetooth option goes, Bluetooth audio is only available on the Tech and Advance packages. To my knowledge, there's no OEM accessory which would allow the dealer to install this upgrade.

I'm surprised that your current setup doesn't display song titles or allow you to change tracks via the steering wheel controls. My 12 Accord EX has the same setup but I can view song titles and change tracks via the steering wheel controls.

I too have a 2011 base and get no other information on the display. Have to look at the Ipod to see that information.

I guess that's the part of having a nav. or not, I still love this SUV.

I know this thread is old. I'm hoping some new product came about where this is possible.
I too have 2012 mdx base and is currently looking to be able to stream via bluetooth. Or some other way of connecting an ipod other than through the aux.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You don't ? I do. Weird. Honestly though, I dont even bother storing music on my phone. I just put a couple gig on a
USB stick and call it a day using this technique.
