MDX '09 and BluTooth
MDX '09 and BluTooth
I am sitting here at the computer looking at a pair of Motorola Compact Headphones #S-9 HD.
Slipping them on the iPhone links to them and in seconds I am listening to my stored Music. I grab my work cell and call my iPhone and it easily switches from music to the call.
As I hang up the Test Call I remembered an urgent call for help to the Acura entertainment system people when I could not get music to play by Bluetooth out of my new cars radio.
I remember Him telling Me of iPhone's "inability" to do both Music and Call functions via BlueTooth that prevented my phone from working with my Acura Sound system.
And Yet for under a $100 bucks I have it both ways with the Motorola headset. What's up with that?

I don't think the iPhone can be used as a phone if it's playing music at all. I had my iPhone hooked up to the USB cord and a call came in. It stopped the music but when I tried answering it from the steering wheel button, it said the same thing you got.
Looks like I'll need to put my stuff on the HDD.

DArk My MDX does not have a USB I got ripped of on that deal with the stupid rear TV. But as I said the iPhone works perfectly using Bluetooth switching from calls to music and back seamlessly with a $100 headset from motorola. If the Bluetooth in the X would link to the phone with music I would not care about calls so much.
It works in the '10. I was playing music through bluetooth and a call came in. I answered it with the steering wheel button and after the call it played the music again. It's nice to just hop in and it starts playing but no control besides volume.
OK so does the Acuralink message feature also work with the iPhone since they fixed the Bluetooth issue for music and phone calls? My system says the phone is not compatible to the link system.

Just say setup and the car will list setup options. I then say "Link Phone". It will ask for a 4 digit code and I use four 0's. You need to set the phone into discovery mode from the BlackBerry Bluetooth menu screen first...
Hoping that they will upgrade Acuralink to work better with the iPhone 3GS. Still cannot click on a "missed call" on my iPhone and have it work through the car's Bluetooth system. Same for voicemails on the iPhone...no way to listen to them through the Acuralink while driving.
One reason I went for the 3rd MDX was the sales guy mentioned the iPhone is fully compatible with the car. He forgot to mention if you get the entertainment package your radio is different and not slick for the iPhone as other models are.
Blackberry phones work with Acura's. Not sure if they dock like a iPhone does though...

My company offers me a choice of phones and I always check on the Acura site for compatibility before I choose. Curve or Tour Blackberry? The Tour is not checked by Acura therefore I chose the Curve. It maybe worth the check before getting your next phone because bluetooth is a "must have" feature for me.
