Loud DVD player??

The DVD player (OEM) in the MDX is extremely loud. You can very clearly hear the DVD spinning and the motor turning it. Our old 04 mdx's dvd player was silent as is the dvd player in my Tundra. Those that have the OEM DVD player in their mdx.........is your's silent or can you hear the motor spinning?

Edit: The CD player is silent......just the DVD player makes noise?!?!?

Every now and then I hear this hissing sound. I thought it was the DVD player as well but I'm not sure. Thought maybe it was in the HVAC system or maybe the little fan that draws air in to measure the interior air temp. Are you sure it's your DVD player?
Does it sounds like 2 or 3 seconds of hissing, almost like an air leak?

It's definitely the DVD player. The instant you put a DVD in the slot the noise starts.

Have the service department check it with another MDX with rear entertainment if they have it.

That's the problem. They don't have one and they claim none of their other regular customers have one and until they can check against another 2010, they don't want to order it. I'm unhappy b/c it is extremely loud and they even admit its probably wrong but their policy is to test against another....blah blah blah. I just spend $50k on this damn thing and it sound like a POS. I'm not happy!!

I just figured out of 1,000's of acurazine members, I get more than 1 person with applicable feedback.....thanks for your feedback csmeance!

The DVD should not be heard spinning a disk. Period! That is crap they have to compare it to another DVD. Give me a number to call and I will crack them up a bit. Tell them you want it to be as quiet as the CD player is. And not a decibel more!
