Locked Inside The Car

2007 MDX - last 2 days my wife went into the car and while sitting with key on the seat, all doors locked automatically.
Does not seem normal - any idea?

Thanks

Misleading title much..?

Is the car on? Did she shift into gear? Or did she just unlock and then go and sit inside with the doors closed? Need more information

If you are unlocking the car using the remote and then do not open any doors or the liftgateit will lock automatically by default. I'm assuming your wife just pressed the unlock button on the remote again after she got in and closed the doors - this happened to me a couple of times.

You can change the settings in the menu under Security Relock TImer in the Door/Window setup category.

You can unlock with the fob and open/close any door to disable the 30-60-90 second auto door lock timer. Using the lock/unlock switches on the doors doesn't engage the auto timer like the fob. I think our Acura MDX has a feature where you can't lock both of your fobs inside the MDX without a person in the car? You have to be inside the MDX to lock/unlock with one/both fobs and have the auto timer engaged.

The only way would to lock from the outside and slip the fob inside the MDX from a cracked side window or popped up sunroof.

No and no, she unlocked from outside went in and sat down, a few seconds later all doors locked. It happened to me yesterday; unlocked and opened the door and was going to pull the latch to pop the hood. But prior to doing so, I took a few seconds to reseat the fuse holder cover, and the doors locked, driver door was opened.
