Lets talk accessories...

I will definitely get wheel locks, all weather mats, and a cargo liner.

What other items are recommended?

I'd like a headrest coat hanger, is their an OEM version of this?

What about my Iphone, is there anything I need to get that synced to the stereo?

Thanks!
Matt

sometimes dealers throw in the mats and locks with the car at no extra charge (my dealer has done this for both cars i have bought from them). if you want to save a few bucks you can get these items from one of the vendors here (acktl05 or tim at peoria acura). they will be cheaper than buying from your dealer.

dont' know about your i phone...

other goodies...tow hitch (way cheaper aftermarket and DIY install), running boards (see vendors and DIY for install), roof rails (again see vendors and DIY for install)...i have done the first two add ons...the roof rails...is on my list. tow hitch for bike rack, running boards for function and looks, the roof rails...looks and possibly future function if adding other roof top accessories.

PLEASE don't get body side molding it just looks bad. but if you must have them...

what other items are on your list of needs and wants???

Just ordered the cargo cover and net. The Sports Running Board, wheel locks, all season mats and cargo tray are already installed.

I wouldn't mind a nice set of sport pedals to match the sport running board design - if I can find them.

I would like a cargo liner. Is it easy to move it out of the way when you need the third row?

^^the OEM cargo liner is a tri fold design and accomodates the third row when used (ie it folds).

I'm trying to find the rubber cargo mat I got in my '09 MDX. its a solid piece of rubber, not a tri fold. I use my car for work, and will never have the 3rd row in use, so don't want the trifold...but doesn't look like they still make single rubber mat?

WHAT?? The body side moldings look fantastic. I could not disagree more. They are a must have item.

You should also get driver/passenger windows tinted to match other windows.

tsturbo- i guess it all comes down to personal tastes. never been a fan (). takes away from the natural flow of the lines of the car (ie less busy).

BSM on a TL looks horrible.

i agree with the tint though...unfortunately in the commonwealth we need to stay as close to legal or legal as possible. stock is about 20%

Yeah, not sure how they look on the TL, but on the 2010+ X they look great, at least on the Palladium Silver.

i saw BSM on another 09 at the time i was buying mine....exact same car except it had a few more miles and the BSM (the dealer wanted more for it too)...not a fan. i think on the MDX you can get away with the BSM...me personally....meh.

i got the running boards because i thought i would want them but my legs are too short and it makes it hard getting in and out of the vehicle. it also makes it hard for me to open the passenger door and lean in to get the stuff that fell out of my carry bag. i'll give them until the summer to redeem themselves otherwise i'm taking them off.

for Idevices, i did not get the tech package. radio shack sells a cable that plugs into the earbud port. my kids play their music through the radio that way with AUX mode set.

ordered my 2 inch hitch through etrailer. didn't purchase yet but etrailer's price on the Thule swing away bike rack is a good price

I totally agree with this. Not only do they look good IMHO but they engage the doors of both my Maxima and my Integra when they're parked side by side in the garage. The little nicks in the side molding (passenger side) are evidence that they protect the paint on the doors.

I am picking up a 2009 MDX in a few days and I definitely want the running boards for easy access. But I looked around different sites and there's 2 different ones, some sites said it's discontinued? I was wondering does the 2012 running boards fit on the 2009? It should fit right???

and there's no other mods for it eh? Such as performance, or suspension? I know it has front and rear sway bars already, but nothing more for the MDX eh?

want OEM running boards PM acktl05 with details...he can get you a good price.

mods for the MDX...there is no market for them. LED lighting...wheels....that's all i can think of. performance wise RV6 was in the making of fitting a J-pipe...so that is in the mix. suspension...nada. are you getting a base model or one with tech/sport/RES. only other mod if you have the base or one with just tech...replacing the rear sway bar with the sport model sway bar (slightly thicker) for some handling improvements. otherwise...not a lot of mods unless you go custom.

The 2009 boards only fit on later models with the proper intermediate trim piece, which is different between the 2007-2009 and 2010-2012. I THINK the 2010-2012 boards will fit on a 2009, you'll just have an extra trim piece leftover, but someone else should confirm this, or you can go to MDXers.org and look around because I remember it was discussed there a few times.

I got Advance boards for my 2011 and got the best price from Tim here:
