L.E.D's

Anyone replaced any of their interior lights with L.E.D.'s?

If so, post pics!

I know a few people on the other mdx forum have, but the pics are few and far between.

I'm looking to this, as well as my license plate lights. Kind of how the new IS' have them. Looks so much cleaner.

Just ordered the super-white LEDs for the license plate. I think it should look clean and OEM. I'll post up before and after pictures when i get them.

^^ That is exactly the look im going for. Will take before and after. I currently have a slightly tinted license plate cover in the rear. I wonder I should take it off when putting the LEDs in

This is one of those little simple mods that adds so much class.

CCFL's = not so simple on the MDX

There's a good DIY on the CCFL's in the 3G TL Garage here on Acurazine with quite a few people complaining about their flickering/dead LED's. I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of the LED's on an MDX.

Oh, yeah I heard that too about the led bulbs. Never had a problem with mine though. Mine have been in for about 2.5 years now on my tsx and still work great!

The mdx is my dad's though. He complains enough when I do things to my car, so little to no chance I will be able to sneak some led's into his lol

I think it would look better if you took it off. That way the CCFL light will be able to illuminate the plate. I'd imagine that the plastic cover will do a bit of "mirror reflecting" adding a glare to the cover...perhaps making it look weird. But that's just assumption...

I bought mine from a place here in Houston called Directron (they are online too).

However, they don't have the 4" white tubes like most people use so I had to finagle 2 12" tubes in. I think the 4" tubes from: http://www.oznium.com/cathode-kit would be adequate and easier to work with.

Hm, I think I'm going to first try the LEDs and see what they look like. If I'm not happy with them i'll try the cold cathode tubes.

Sounds good! If you end up not liking the LED's back there you can probably use them somewhere inside the car.

Let us know how it goes!
