Inherited 2004 MDX w/ Electrical Issues
My next door neighbor has a 2004 MDX that he was going to donate to charity. He asked me if I wanted any parts off it for my 2008 TL? I asked him what was wrong with it? He tells me the dash is all lit up, it needs brakes all the way around and a possible axle replacement. I asked him if he would be interested in selling it? He said that if I can fix it, its mine. He says that if I sell it, I would just need to give him a part of the profit I make.
I have always like challenges, so I figure I will give it a shot.
The car has just shy of 130,000 miles on it. A bit of rust at the back of the rear wheel wells is what I can see. It seems to run decently, but sounds like the calipers are seized up against the rotors, which have a fair amount of rust on them as well from sitting in his driveway. As far as the warning lights in the dash display, the VTM-4 light, the VSA light, the ABS light are all on, as well as the triangle with the exclamation point. The battery is about 3 years old, but does not seem to want to hold a charge. I have it on a trickle charger now. When not on the charger, the battery shows about 12.2 volts. With the engine on, the battery is showing about 14.07 volts, so it looks like the alternator is working.
I put it on my OBD scanner and no stored codes were found.
Any ideas as to what might be causing all these warning lights to come on all at the same time?
Thanks for any help!

you need a better scan tool. a scan tool that can read and write DTC's.
otherwise; no one will know why all the lights are on.
sounds like you've taken on too much of a job!
sounds like you're about to put a few grand into the car.
the 04 MDX is known for a shitty transmission. hope the tranny is good and you'll be able to sell the MDX for a few grand.
the transmission issue is so bad; I wouldnt wish my worst enemy a 1G MDX
