How to hack the 07-09 nav start up screen
I altered the following method posted on the Odyssey forums for my 07 MDX:
http://www.odyclub.com/forums/showth...threadid=43849
1. Make a work folder to save your Nav files to. I put mine on the Desktop and called it Navhack.
2. Download Bysin
http://guicide.com/cars/2006civic/nav/hacks/Bysin.zip
After unzipping, copy the 2 files from the "Release" directory and put them in your work folder.
3. Eject your Navi DVD (under the driver's seat).
4. Load the DVD into your PC. Copy the following files to your work folder:
07Jog.bin
07Jog2.bin
07Touch2.bin
07Touch.bin
A0000_00.mng
dca0.evt
DCAO.reg
dca0_mod.evt
EDATA_ENUS.bin
EDATA_FRCA.bin
PRG_INFO.MNG
UPDATE_APL.exe
5. Use your favorite photo editor. I used Photoshop Elements. You will need to create or edit your desired image file to the following parameters:
Width: 480
Height: 234
Depth: 16
File Size: 224,712
Type: BMP
Name: Opening1.bmp
The file size needs to be exactly as above.
6. Save this image to the work folder.
7. Go to the Windows Start button, select "Run", type "cmd"
8. From the CMD prompt, type "cd desktop\navhack". Make sure the command line now shows your work folder (remember the old days of MS-DOS?)
9. Type "bysin 07Jog2.bin update Opening1.bmp" and wait. I believe the command is case sensitive.
10. Insert a blank CD-R into the PC.
11. Copy the above 12 files including the hacked 07Jog2.bin file. From "My Computer" select the CDRW drive and burn the files to the CD-R.
12. Go to the car, switch on the Accessories.
13. Load the hacked CD-R and wait.
14. The Navi will say disc error.
15. Hold the MAP/GUIDE + CANCEL + MENU button simultaneously for 3-5 secs. The Diagnostics screen will pop up.
16. Select "Version"
17. Select "Download" and wait. If your CD-R was made correctly, then you will eventually get a loading progress bar.
18. After 5 minutes, the download will complete and you will get another disc error message.
19. Eject the CD-R and and re-load the Navi DVD.
20. Turn the Accessory power off and back on. The new startup image should appear!

i think the 12's you can actually upload your own photo without hacking. i know the 12 TL's have the capability and the image will actually stay on the screen while you drive if you aren't using the map.
not sure when acura introduced personalized wall paper for the nav screen b/c of the HD that is int he car now.
