Wats up guys, i have a 06 mdx. As you know, i have that old remote key, however i want to update it to a switchblade. i have read many forums but everywhere they talk about "TL" . Also another product that i was interested in was the power trunk kit for my mdx. Has anyone done that mod ??. I found a seller on ebay that sells the key but it needs to be cut and programmed. i called acura dealer but they cant gurantee the work since it isnt a factory manufactured product. they charge $20 for it.

The switchblade key might work but I'd be wary buying one from eBay. Also you'd likely want it to operate your trunk, and the one you've linked doesn't have a spare button for that use.

As for the power trunk kit, the one you've posted is only a kit to provide powered trunk release - it's not a kit to open the rear gate automatically.

Adding a switchblade key control most likely will not work. The receiver must be set up for the added channels in order to work.

I would suggest talking to a custom install shop to see what they can do. They are twice as smart as dealers in doing the near impossible. Auto start MDX from dealer. $600. Auto start from Custom shop $400. Longer range control. At least 1000' WAy Way Better remote. Way cooler buttons. Power windows all close added. One button trunk pop not the dumb press doors unlock twice than trunk open button finally works.
