HELP, rust inside MDX 2010!

Has any other owners observed rust in MDX(2008-2010) in centerconsole brackets , located behind the drivers/passenger seat just below the 2 x A/c vents , you might have to push down on the carpet to view? Please advise.

I did, they with Acura client relations, and the district manager advised that it was surface rust, but that it was normal. Its not just my vehicle, the dealer also showed me another MDX similar year with the same problem and worst. I would like to get owners with the similar model to check to confirm that this is not just an isolated problem!

Are they fixing it?
Whether its one vehicle or many, it is still Acura's responsibility to fix it.

I once got the rust on the back door of my Chevy Tahoe fixed by GM after it was 61 months from purchase.

You should talk directly to Acura if your dealer is hesitating.

It is hard to tell what it is w/o pictures. Could you clean the rust with some lime away / CLR?

Surface rust is normal on these brackets. Espcially in humid climates. It would be take well longer than four times the life of the vehicle this to have any impact on the structural integrity of the bracket.

I have received a letter from my dealership that confirms the it is surface rust. They are saying that it is normal. It is just hard to believe for me as a consumer to that you can experience rust inside of a new vehicle! This cannot and will not be normal.
