Fuel smell

2007 Acura MDX...no visual signs of fuel leak but only gets a fuel smell when the ac is on and stop at an idle...smell comes through vents?

Pull the whole intake off..cleaned and check the injectors...not wet or staining around any. Was going to just pull and replace o-rings and see if smell goes away? Also looking onto charcoal canister replace but cannot see any visual leaks or smell? Looked for body plugs missing...all good...driving me crazy!!

you should pull the injectors..the o-rings might be cracked letting fuel vapors out...

I also remember a thread about an MDX or RDX that had a faulty vent in the rear, allowing either fuel smell or something of that nature to build up in cabin

just light a match and follow the fire!

Please don't do that...

I'm thinking your focus should be on the rear banks of injectors nearest the firewall

I had an intermittent, faint fuel smell in my '02 TL that would come and go seemingly randomly. When I finally adjusted my valve clearances, I found that both valve cover gaskets and all six spark plug tube gaskets were hard as goddamn brickbats. Replacing them made that fuel smell go away for good. YMMV.
