Hi All,

So Im having this front Clunking noise when going over bumps or even starting the car sometimes. I took it to Acura to Diag it and they said it was front struts.So I replaced the both front sway bar bushing, both end link, both front struts and and both rear shocks...... still the same noise is there. I don't know what else to check.....

 

When I was looking for the same answer for my clunk somebody pointed out the A-Arm Bushing. It has a TSB for it about clunk noises when you accelerate or brake.

 

Check the compliance bushings(big bushings on lower control arms). Also check the motor mounts

 

Anyone figured this out or fixed this yet?
Mine has it pretty bad. Checked all the rubber I could see, lower control arm rear bushing, the big suspension isolation bushings front & rear, sway bar end links & bushings, didn't see any problem.

I'm wondering if it the struts, it sure doesn't ride & handle like bad struts/shocks, but I am not familiar with vehicle previously to compare. The dealer I bought it from said the struts had been replaced (lately), but they look like they have been in there awhile

 

the issue is with the spring and the top hats for the shocks

 

What's the solution, new top hats, or the big rubber gasket spring seat?
And is it front only or could be rear ones also? Mine sounds like a coffee can full of rocks, I can't tell where it's coming from.
