I would stick with a name brand when buying any auto lights. Who knows where those el cheapo bulbs are made. Also, it seems the brighter the light the shorter lifespan they have.

Just because Ebay says Xenon you don't have to believe them, they are incandesant halogen and they are 55w at full voltage so they will still be dim DRL's in the MDX in fact, they will look the same as the ones you have except dimmer because someone painted the glass blue which will fade to nothing in a short while. If you are going the LED route then be careful that the resistance is high enough to not turn on the DRL fault light. (check other threads in this forum).

I did a search and found info on these:
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/D...22474-1-2.html

To me they seem very similar to the ebay version; the only difference is the value. Please shine in if you disagree.

Also, I don’t need the DRL's to produce a lot of light, I just hate that yellowish stock look; thats why I am leaning towards the Halogen rather than the LED route.

I hear that the V LEDS work fine. I tried LEDs and I got the warning light. The advantage of the LED is the color is constant. The prob with Halogen is the DRL voltage is low and incandesant turns yellow with a low voltage applied. You should prob go the LED route even though you may need the resistors to fool the warning system of the resistance change.

heres the dealio with these types of bulbs..: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-SM...Q5fAccessories..

back when i had my Accord i changed all my bulbs out for leds and high output halogens..etc.. I purchased these SMD bulbs and they are not even as bright as a stock bulb..believe me..they are of course whiter than a yellowish oem bulb...just not nearly as bright.. i still have em if anybody wants em..!

i installed one..took a step back to compare..difference was very noticable..took it out immediatley.. if your going to use them as a drl, they wont give off enuf light to be useful in illuminating any of the road..trust me... not that a drl is for illuminating the road..but still..you get the idea..
