confirmation beep when locking doors

2010 MDX Adv.

it randomly stopped giving me the confirmation beep when i double tapped the lock button on my key fob. also tested it with my spare fob to make sure it's not that specific remote or a weak battery.
i'm the only driver of this car, so it's not like someone would have changed a setting on me.

any ideas what to check?

does it actually lock the locks?
usually; when there's no confirmation beep, it means it didn't lock and a sensor is either malfuctioning or you left something ajar.
make sure all doors, hood, and trunk are closed as any one of these sensors could have went bad.

any way to test/confirm that?

if it is bad, is it tough or expensive to replace?

Opened/closed all doors.
Tested the trunk with the key fob and it opens/closes normally.

Any other suggestions?

i'll disconnect the hood sensor and see if i get a beep.

if this is it, do i have to replace the whole latch, or can i get just the sensor?

Usually is the latch.. This is a common problem in lots of Acura/Honda vehicles with the stock alarm.
