Clear Bra on the MDX

Different vehicle profiles can tend to have more rock chips on the hood or less. I had a 3M clear bra on my TSX and it worked well. For those who have had their MDX's for a while, do you recommend getting one?

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...otection/Film/

My MDX is only a week old so I can still get one added while the hood is still in perfect shape.

Thanks

Excited

(I love my new MDX,)

Have the hood clear bra on my '08 and I also had them apply strips along the edge of the doors for parking lot protection, and there have been no issues with peeling off or bubbles.

We have the 3M across the whole front end, mirrors, door edges, and on the top of the rear bumber. It all depends on how good your installer is!

I have mine done, mine is 2010 Black MDX ... so clear bra is a must do ... for me ..

I paid $590 total, including full bumper, partial hood, partial fenders, mirrors, headlight, fog light/DRL

it saves me from the rock chips from a recent road chip already, on the top edge of the hood area ...

As time passes, the film turns yellow. VentureShield film has less of a tendency to do this.

actually 3M has 5 years warranty for yellowing ... etc, and i have heard good things about 3M, my other car, s2000 has the same film on for 4 years and it looks brand new as if it was installed just last week !!

I have heard other brand actually have yellowing issue, but not 3M

I definitely recommend to have this. I bought a bumper kit from invisiblemask.com 2 yrs ago and installed it myself. The film still looks good and definitely protected the bumper from rock chips. I wish I also had this film on my hood as I begin to see some small rock chips on that area.

I think the film blends well on lighter color though. You can hardly notice this on my steel blue mdx, but not the case for our carbon bronze TL.

not only that but the chips don't stand out as much compared to a darker color

since you have bad winters in canada it would probably be a good investment anyway

Thanks for all of the tips and suggestions.

My hope is that my MDX will see no winter days. If I time it right I will head down to Arizona before the first real snow and won't come back until the snow is gone.

I may try and add one next week. I will check to see if it is a 3M product and what the yellowing guarentee is.

I just love my MDX so far. In about a month and a half time I will be headed south for a 26 driving hours trip and I can't wait to cruise in the MDX on that trip.

The company that my dealer uses, does not use a 3M product and they would not provide any assurance that it would not yellow. They did a great job on my old Royal Blue Pearl TSX, but I did not get a good feeling for my Pearl White MDX. I am holding off for now and will look for a different installer.

Just love the MDX.

43 days before I take my first big trip with it down to AZ. So happens it is also 43 days until my first day of retirement. I am really looking forward to that trip.
